Somehow, that odd string inside her head always managed to tell her those words, blocking everything away and slowly eating up her senses and memories – good or bad. It came to a point where Elisa began to think it was happening all inside her head. Perhaps, she thought, those nightmares were just products of her own mind tricking her to believe they were her 'lost memories.
But then, the way Alyn spoke to her suddenly made her snap. Those strings around her head seemed to be pulled away, the little voice beginning to turn into a smaller and inaudible sound that left her wondering if it ever existed in the first place.
Like an infinite water flow cascading down her entire system, her chest began to ache and feel lighter at the same time.
Before she knew it, a small drop of tear slowly rolled down her cheek.
