Lianlian looked at Alexander with an unreadable expression. She lowered her gaze and uttered silently, "...I do not wish to play..."
Alexander frowned. Knowing it was hopeless to converse with a river spirit, he turned to Sol instead. "Don't fall for her tricks. She did it once to us. She's a dangerous spirit."
"N-No, I'm not!" Lianlian exclaimed while staring at Sol.
Seeing how Lianlian's expressions changed from mild to severe back to eerily quiet again, Sol's skin twitched. He couldn't help but feel as if he was being played. Maybe Alexander was right. Lianlian was just playing with them. But then, he could feel a faint, small voice inside him that told him the opposite.
That the river spirit before them wasn't what they actually thought her to be.
