"You may now kiss your bride to seal your eternal vows" she heard the sock priest say. This was of course followed by embarrassingly loud and dramatic kissing noises and giggling from the children.
Dan's face strained to remain emotionless, revealing a pained expression. She reached out a comforting hand over his and his body stiffened instead of relaxed. Feeling hurt and not sure why she pulled her hand back. "Relax, it's just a silly puppet show, and it didn't have anything hurtful to our reputations."
He buried his face in his hands before raking them through his shortened hair. She pulled his hood forward when his hands threatened to make it fall off. He turned to her his face no longer masked but filled with worry and retucked another stray hair of hers sliding the scarf up higher. She gave him a small smile and he took a deep breath relaxing a little.
