"Travelers at this hour? Where ya headed from?"
"Dunbart ma'am." Vera lied in a gruff voice.
"Ah, what brings you this way so late at night?"
"Business, an' a meal; if ya still got any."
"Yes, of course, we still got some stew and maybe a biscuit or two. What can I get ya ta drink?"
"Mead," Vera answered. Still not looking at the woman.
"And you sir?" she asked him.
"Same." He said looking at her and then back to Vera. The barmaid left with a side glance at Vera as if trying to peek under her hood by will alone.
Vera jutted out her chin a little still not looking directly at the girl and said "'Tis rude ta stare."
The girl blushed at being called out and scurried off.
"What is on your face?" Dan whispered confused.
