Congratulations! Making it to the FBI academy is already a big deal! And As a trainee, you're going to the FBI Academy in Quantico.
But the first day can be tough, especially with the lack of familiarity.
You're thrown into a new environment, With a big social circle of strangers, and You'll be here for 20 weeks, training with those strangers.
It might feel a bit lonely if you don't know anyone, or fail to befriend someone.
So After a long day with nothing but strangers in your face, seeing a familiar face among those strangers, is going to be a moment of happiness, since you're probably not going anywhere for 20 weeks.
And as a FBI trainee, it's quite discouraged by the FBI academy for you to allow your personal life to effect you during the period of training, so interactions with family and friends from outside the Academy are very limited.
That's why she came by herself without her family or friends accompanying her, she knew it's best to get used to her beloveds absence early on.
Unfortunately, even though she was a certified extrovert, everyone here seems too serious about training to be befriended.
But as Jade wandered around inside the academy, to explore her surroundings better, she suddenly noticed an object flying towards her at a considerable speed, luckily she caught it in her hand just in time.
Although she knew she'd see this face sooner rather than later, nearly getting hit by a cold soda wasn't how she thought this Runion would happen, Jade wasn't the happiest nor the closest to comfort with him around.
" Garrick."
"Jade."
"What a small world, is this how you say hi to people? Just soda'em to the face?" she Said sarcastically.
"You're right, sorry about that! now I get what Ned meant by a coincidence." Garrick replied smiling at her, she scoffed at him returning the cold soda in the same manner he delivered it.
Catching the can back into his hands, "This would've worked on Mom not me, maybe Jasper too, they're the ones that love drinking this...Next time, try bribing me with a coffee, Fucker."
"Honestly, i prefer coffee too child."
"Ugh! don't 'child' me!"
"Okaaaay!... BTW! you look a lot different, I hardly recognized you." Garrick said, he could tell she was using a Glamour just like him, from how her Violet-hair was now black and her eyes were sky-blue instead of dark-purple.
"How annoying that we still got the same hair color even after using a Glamour, btw your eyes turned hazel...that happens for Jasper when he uses his glamour, except his hair turn blonde though." Jade said unamused.
She had more issues on her mind to address than magical makeovers.
Jade was so pissed, when Jasper told her what happened between Ned and Garrick, and the new problem with this Fernando guy as well.
She was already holding back so much, it was enough that her own unwanted ability was driving her insane since she got here, This Garrick had to bother her.
Everyone was talking in and out of their minds, she had an amulet somewhere in her belongings that she needed to wear to turn off her powers, but she didn't put in on yet.
Jade wanted to keep using her ability during the welcoming ceremony, so she can tell who she needs to watch out for, especially around Garrick.
Someone was already thinking sinister thoughts by the time she made it, she needed to find out who.
...[Tiny flashback]...
(Time: year 1976)
The sixteen Jade kicked open the door, Begging anything in the sky for her eyes not to see what she feared the most, The dark inner-thought she heard coming from the man in questioning at the police station, was playing again over and over in her mind.
She first heard it when she went to the station to get a look at that man's face, it chilled her to the bone.
The police weren't able to find any physical evidence that could prove that man was the culprit, the actual killer among many suspects accused of kidnapping, torturing and killing young teenage boys, then dumping their bodies across the city.
But Jade knew for sure it was him, she couldn't prove it though.
The suspect was few minutes away from leaving the station, walking free.
The interrogation was coming to an end, so there was no point in keeping him detained.
And with Ned and Aroon out on a mission, oblivious to what's going on, she and Shadow were the only ones able to save her twin, or find his body at least.
She believed It was all her fault, Jade believe she's responsible, and although she badly wanted to get rid of her ability to hear thoughts, after all it drove her crazy! but it was literally her only lead now.
She could hear all sorts of thoughts, normal everyday thoughts were muffled and mixed together, she couldn't clearly hear them until she got closer to the source of the thought.
But some thoughts made themselves easily hearable, As if demanding to be heard.
Dark thoughts for example, those were loud enough that she can hear them from across the room, they echoed in her mind, in a horrifyingly booming voice.
[Oh! so he's her twin brother? what a shame you won't see him again, he's my pretty little thing for now...i like how soft he feels, he's the prettiest I ever had...my gift, he's wrapped up like a present in my basement...ohhh how he didn't put up a fight! or make a sound!... that's hard to come by in boys nowadays.]
Those words kept echoing in her mind, she was utterly disgusted by the way that maniac was talking about her brother, like he wasn't a living being, but a toy.
The moment she managed to get the man's address, Jade climbed into the car with Shadow, speeding down the road towards his house.
And as soon as the car parked, Jade ran out and to the front door of that man's house, kicking it repeatedly until it got open.
inside, she immediately noticed the axe by the fireplace, she picked it up hurrying to the basement, with Shadow begging her not to do something that'll get her into trouble.
But she didn't care, Jade didn't care couldn't hear his thoughts, she needed to know if Jasper was okay, she knew that he was here probably terrified to death, if not kissed by it already.
She hacked with the axe through the tough basement door, opening herself a way in mere seconds.
She didn't care for the sirens outside the Killers house, ignoring all the officers that followed her here knowing damn well she'll break into that house.
They were screaming at her from outside to get out, but she ignored them, hugging her unconscious sibling on the ground, and crying in relief...she wasn't too late, he was breathing.
...[End of Tiny flashback]...
"You good? you zoned out a bit!" Garrick asked waving his hands at her face.
Jade blinked twice, "Oh shit! were you talking to me?"
"Yeah! I said how old are you now?"
"Huh? why are you asking me such question? how old are you fucker?"
Garrick pouted at her, "Why are you still calling me fucker?!"
"Do you think that because my mom helped you to get rid of your obviously lovesick Stalker, I'm going to be on the same level of kindness as him?!" Jade replied.
Hearing her words made the memories creep back into Garrick's head, he felt his face heat-up real quick, "Oh!... so you know about that." he wondered if she knew about the kiss that followed, that would be awkward and embarrassing.
Folding her arms, "No shit Sherlock? my twin and I don't hide secrets...No more at least.
Anyways, it's not like I give a damn whom my mom likes to fool around with, as long as he's happy, that's all I give a fuck about." She said, but then her ears suddenly caught something of Garrick's thoughts, it stood out to her.
[ I really like Ned...I know I just met him but...I really like him...it's insane...it feels like I've known him before...he's not coming out of my head!]
That was a strong honest thought coming from Garrick's mind, it made Jade relax a bit.
"There's no point in hiding shit from you, since mom already over-shared.
I'm like over a Half-Century old like my brother calls it.
Pretty sick, since I look 25 still, that's the age i used to get here anyways." Jade responded.
"Oh Wow, I'm 23...I turned like this august."
"I'm born in July, it's weird thinking you're physically younger than me."
"People are going to notice someday that you always look the same, what you're going to do Then jade?"
"We got a family traditions for that...Fake our own deaths, change looks if we have to, or pose as the next generation, like for example I'll pretend to be my own daughter, shit like that."
"What about dating? isn't it kind of hard to date someone in your circumstances, like I don't know, maybe dating an immortal like you could be a solution, but what if the person you like, is just a Mortal?"
Jade paused for a second, this reminded her of something, Garrick was a mortal after all, of course he'd ask something like this.
And he was right, if by any chance him and Ned would actually start dating, there's a huge possibility that Ned would give-up on his immortality to be with Garrick.
As if watching so many of her friends experiencing to the cold harsh reality of a human mortality wasn't enough for her, the fact that Shadow, the woman she saw as a big sister and family, was also on the edge of being six feet under in a grave, that very fact loomed heavy on Jade's mind.
"I fell in love once or twice or more...I had lots of friends whom I gave a shit about, I never let this issue stand in the way of me being happy, although that happiness wasn't everlasting...the people I liked back then, they're probably wrinkling old or something by now, with grandchildren too.
The immortality that me and my family possess is something we can easily give up, we're plain humans physically, it's not like it's something we're born with like vampires.
If one day I were to find that one person, that someone who's literally Worthy of me giving up on my immortality for them, then so be it.
I'll give it up, and problem solved." Jade replied, there was an obvious sadness lingering in her voice, the thought of living without someone she always had around or loved so deeply, scared her...she never handled death well.
Feeling responsible of making that painful expression on her face, "Sounds both romantic and tragic to me...Ah damn! I'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked this question to begin with." Garrick said apologizing.
"Are you really sorry? you don't seem to be that bothered, about the fact that Mom is an immortal?"
"I'd like to live the moment without thinking about the past or the future, it's just unnecessary anxiety to me."
"You sure do ask a lot of question, for somebody who doesn't give a shit, Fu-i mean Rick." Jade replied avoiding at the last second to insult him again.
Garrick snickering at her, "I might be just a little curious though, I'm seriously serious when I tell you I have nothing but good intentions...especially towards Ned."
Sighing, "These are going to be the longest 20 weeks of my life...I can't believe I'm stuck here with you."
"Don't worry, I won't stand in your way."
"You better."
