"Wait... Before I do that, I need to eat first."
Crocus reached out for some edible corn. He made a mouthful as he closed his eyes to savor its taste. It was so sweet it tasted like milky corn candy. Fortunately, Crocus knows that it's a good reminder that when corn is this good, it doesn't need to be cooked.
Crocus did it until Envy left and came back.
"Your highness, there's an incoming event from the ground we need to prepare for unknown creatures and its mana soil."
Said Envy without emotion. Hoping for his highness to not play now, but later. Crocus nodded. He didn't know what it was and was not sure of it. All of a sudden, Crocus's vision turned into muddy water.
"Sh*t! I can't breathe! What's going on!?"
Envy turned into Vines that spread out wide open!
"Your highness!"
With root-like vines, Envy carried Crocus on the surface.
*Cough Cough*
Crocus can now breathe since he was hanged on the vine of Envy.
"What happened!?"
Envy's face suddenly appeared on one of the vines that Crocus was holding.
"Your highness, this is not your normal zombie apocalypse. You must be careful."
Crocus was shocked, even though he was not sure of it.
"What do you mean?! Why mention zombies?"
Envy suddenly turned into a human that looked like him.
"Your highness, I have turned back to my human form and not use my Primordial Infinity form. This time, we should be careful because the enemy is a mutated zombie."
In this Earthoran world, there is Eathoran. There are four spirits, and one of them is the Primordial Spirit.
The primordial spirit is also common in the three spirit types. Those who have the Primordial spirits are granted the power to control magic elements and environmental substances. Unlike warlocks, Primordial has three main magic types.
In Simple stage
A primordial spirit user can release any kind of elemental magic from the body of the user.
In the All Elemental stage.
Makes the Primordial spirit user body transform into a half output of the owner's elemental body. Won't be affected by the same element in this state.
And finally, in the Infinity stage.
Primordial spirit users can also transform their body's composition into a natural element at will, as well as create and control it. In addition, they can generate an infinite amount of it, but only for a short amount of time. They can only be hurt by their counter elements like the fire is weak against water or water is weak against forest magic.
"Yes, I will."
Crocus said as he remembered what Envy told him about the four-spirit user. Envy is an anomaly and his first form is that of a first-star potential warlock. Called the touch alterer and Envy's last form is a three-star potential primordial in the Infinity stage.
'Envy can only use the Infinity stage for a short amount of time, so I need to be careful now.'
Crocus was once suddenly looked seriously at the distance.
"Mutated zombies?"
Envy sat in a vine that he created together with his highness Crocus.
"Your highness, zombies are created from humans who didn't have a shaped spirit or immunizing serum. Human spirits alone aren't capable of using and containing mana, and it is practically impossible to store them because human spirits didn't have any form."
Crocus was stunned
"Humans didn't have any form?"
*Rumble Rumble*
Envy nodded as he looked into a distance where there was unknown rumbling that Crocus was looking.
"They don't have any. That's why they have to have spirits from their ancestors like your supreme leader Family... Like Zoan spirits who are shaped like animals, dragons, and mythos. Every animal has a shape that depends on its natural habitat. Evolving to survive but for some unknown reason... The more humans make their world comfortable and easy the more their body couldn't adapt."
Crocus was a little enlightened, but he was human. It's normal not to understand everything.
"What about the zombies? Are they undead and why are they undead?"
Envy didn't move as he tried to know what that thing he saw from over there while he is opening his mouth to his highness.
"Zombies are humans who did not have or consumed an immunity serum. Serums are made to control the body of humans for a few years from mana radiation. They slow the radiation of mana to make a mutation of a normal human instantly. It is only used for delay."
He said he wanted to hear more of it.
"Why are the zombies carnivorous or flesh-eating humans?"
He asked with all seriousness. Since Envy is his slave sin demon, Envy of course would explain it to him.
"Humans would turn into a zombie when they are shrouded with mana, right?"
Envy asked to make sure that his highness was listening.
"Why do they turn into the flesh-eating creature?"
He continued making Crocus
"Uhh... I don't know."
Envy nodded.
"Right, your highness... The zombies are creatures full of mana. Their bodies would mutate, including their brains and because it is the human flesh that would absorb it, the mana won't reach their souls. And if they do, it would be too late because the two ain't going to be balanced against each other.
"Making the flow of mana chaotic without flowing inside their soul normally. This leads to mutation into insane flesh-eating zombies!
He explained thoroughly.
*Rumble Rumble*
Another rumbling sound from the distance that they are looking at. However, there's one thing that Crocus didn't understand.
"Why are they eating brains?"
Envy knew that his highness would ask this, so he opened his mouth gently.
"Your highness, magic can be formed from mana using imagination. The brain is the engine that starts it, and it would get tired depending on its capacity to imagine anything it desires. Zombies are after it because of its capability. That's why they crave brains."
Crocus felt ridiculous. He wondered if he could be stronger by imagination alone. What if someone tackled that thing?
"Isn't that the power of imagination? Can at least do anything with it?"
Envy, however, sighed as he rambled inside.
'It is your highness, that's how your game works like that. You can do everything, make someone appear, make someone or something appear anywhere that even the system can't do. However, once you know that... You won't ever improve in your gaming dimensions.'
He decided not to tell his highness or his future growth would be affected.
"You're wrong, your highness. It's hard to explain."
He consoled his highness with the expectation he could keep playing. Suddenly, a massive shadow was speeding in their direction. Crocus's vision blued without him knowing. The only he saw was Envy reaching up to him.
