The speed at which I moved startled even myself as I brought Argo swinging down atop Yarhibol's head, closing the distance between with a deafening clap of air. An indication that I'd broken the sound barrier. Unfortunately, whatever transformation Yarhibol had undergone himself, must have brought him to the same level of speed, for he brought his spear up instantaneously to parry my strike.
Sidestepping to his left, I placed myself squarely in the space between him and my mother. Behind him I noticed Lilith, now in her demonic form herself, flying low to the ground and giving us both a wide berth. Our eyes met if only for a fraction of a second, but in that second an entire conversation had been had instinctively.
"I'm going to distract him-" I had started
"Then I'll sweep in and snatch your mom, I got it." Lilith finished.
"Then you get the hell out of here and don't look back." I added.
