"How could you report something you can't recall?"
Stephanie couldn't explain it. In her head, she knew she must report something, she didn't know what, though.
"The bug in the system . . . the bug in the system is apparent but I can't recall what. The metaverse messed with my head. See, I can't recall what happened. But I know that someone talked to me about something important."
Mark never saw Stephanie in a brooding mood like this. "Was it a nightmare that you had—"
"It's not a nightmare, Mark." Stephanie firmly emphasised her point, sending him a look under the furled brows.
"Alright, alright," Mark lifted his hands in defeat. "Because I assumed that it's similar to how people react after waking up from a bad dream. They got disoriented a bit, and then couldn't recall anything that had happened in the dream."
Stephanie pouted. What Mark said was true and she experienced it sometimes. But this time, it was definitely something different.
