"What's your name?" Stephanie tried to get to the bottom of the matter although the anticipation of the answer sent a chill down her spine.
"Stephanie."
Stephanie paused to gather her thoughts. "No, you can't be Stephanie. I'm Stephanie."
"Then I'm the colour of the summer."
The girl drew two Japanese kanji characters in the air: summer and colour.
Natsu. Iro.
The colour of the summer.
"Summer is our favourite season. You've been to four-season countries, but you only like summer because you don't like the cold."
That was true, though. Stephanie visited some European countries long before the pandemic for short courses or some work experience. She only liked the summers there.
This argument sent tingles to Stephanie's scalp."I'm afraid of the cold, yes. But it's not 'our', it's yours. I never share myself with you. I don't know you."
