Feeling isolated because she had to practically leave her expertise with the Companionship after joining the task force, Stephanie felt that her old life was a lifetime away.
Not being in touch with her clients, keeping updated with their progress only from online chats and sometimes photo sharing, she missed out a lot. Lately, Lila had been into a plant-based diet and she shared many of her creations in the kitchen, as creative as banana bread to tempeh steak. She sent the mouthwatering images to Stephanie almost every other day, and she said not to worry about her ruined plan.
Stephanie wanted to visit Lila sometime this week, but all went awry as she was on her way to the airport now, without any fixed date to come back.
"What do you mean we had to walk from the bus stop to the airport?" she screamed into the void, only Mark the living person within her five kilometres radius. "It's gonna take," she checked her map app, "forty-five minutes of walk! Forty-five, with luggage!"
