Derrek came the next morning to see Yasmin. After talking to her for some time, he went to check on Clara.
Clara was not in bed today, as he was accustomed to seeing her. She was packing her belongings.
"Are you leaving?" he asked, surprised.
He had talked to her the day before, and she never mentioned that she was going to be discharged. He was dissatisfied with her for always treating him as a stranger.
Clara didn't even glance at him, let alone respond to him.
"Are you ignoring me?" Derrek drew her closer to him, grabbing her arm. He was annoyed by her treatment.
No woman had ever treated him with such disdain. The ladies were often drawn to his attractive appearance and went to great lengths to woo him. Clara was the only one who disliked looking at him.
Derrek saw it as a challenge, and he was determined to win her at any cost.
