Alexander decorated his bedroom with flowers, as he had promised Julia. He spread the red rose petals on the bed.
Julia was amazed to see the decorations. The headboard and the four corners of the beds were adorned with bouquets. Several strings of flowers hung from the ceiling right above the bed. The remaining flowers were kept in vases.
The sweet smell of the various flowers made her feel as if she had entered a wonderland. She was looking around the room dazedly and was unaware that Alexander was always staring at her.
"The flowers look even prettier in this room," she murmured. "What do you think?" She looked back at him and met his eyes.
He smiled and came in closer to her. "I am looking at you. I don't know if the flowers are prettier in the room or at the flower shop. My eyes want only to look at you."
He pushed the locks of her hair behind her ears and put his hands on her cheeks. "You are beautiful, Julia."
