Earl's phone rang again. He silenced it once more and ignored it, returning his focus to his work. He had lost count of how many times he had done it since arriving at the office. He neither disconnected the call nor turned the phone off. All he did was ignore it deliberately.
Amber and his relationship had ended, and he had no reason to be concerned about her or anything related to her. He would act against her if she crossed her limit. Until then, he would simply ignore her.
His face was expressionless, with no sign of agitation or annoyance, as if the continuous disturbance had no effect on him.
Amber, on the other hand, was fidgeting. She kept calling him, hoping that he would pick up at some point. Her hope died little by little every time the phone went unanswered. The muscles in her chin quivered as she fought the urge to cry. She finally conceded defeat and put the phone down.
