When Yasmin arrived at the hospital, she was taken aback by the commotion inside the ward. She prudently moved forward and perked her ears, trying to know what was going on inside.
"Amber, you have completely lost your mind," Caroline's crisp voice could be heard. "Why would he come here to see you? He divorced you. Did you forget? He left you for that bitch. He may be enjoying his coffee with her. Stop whining."
"Mom, calm down."
"You, keep your mouth shut," Caroline silenced Derrek.
Yasmin walked slowly into the ward and saw Amber lying on the bed and crying her eyes out.
"I want Earl. He promised me to be by my side during childbirth. He ought to be here. I need to make a phone call." She kept saying this while sobbing.
Yasmin was bewildered. She never imagined Amber would be longing for Earl this much.
Amber had finally fallen in love with Earl. But it was too late. Earl had already moved on.
Yasmin felt sorry for her.
