Earl was packing his belongings into a carton, Marcus helping him. He had resigned from his position, which he had gained because of his marriage to Amber. He felt it was inconvenient for him to continue as CEO of this company when he had already filed for divorce. From now on, he would focus solely on his company.
Marcus stole a glance at him. Looking at his cold demeanor, he hesitated to strike up a conversation.
Earl caught him peeking at him and sensed his restlessness. "If you have anything to say, say it."
"I also want to resign and join Arcane Tech," Marcus said flatly.
Earl paused and gave him a puzzled look. "Why do you want to do that?"
Marcus swallowed, nervous. "I won't be at ease working here. I want to work under you as your assistant."
