Declan locked himself in the study. He had been attempting to calm his raging mind for quite some time. His rage, however, only grew stronger over time. He was not angry with Natasha for dating Earl. The fact that Yasmin was aware of it but did not inform him irked him.
He didn't like it when people, especially close ones, kept things from him. Yasmin mattered to him more than anyone in his life, and he had high expectations of her.
He had intended to put his complete faith in her; then he discovered this. His mind was torn between whether he should believe her or not. He was agitated, and his heart hurt.
"Oh, man." He sighed and rested his elbows on the table, propping up his head with his hands.
In this quietness, he was able to consider things with a calm mind.
He remembered her efforts to clear up his misunderstanding of his mother. On many occasions, she exhibited her trust in him.
