Alayna wasn't in any mood to talk to the viewers at the moment as she followed her bird that was happily tracking the steps the kids took. On the way, she found out that the kids were truly being chased and it was by many people.
The roads were too complicated and what she and the viewers deduced while on this journey made her heart turn cold.
As she wasn't in the mood to go slow, she ended up being carried by the bird and let it fly along the path that the kids took and they ended up on a wide road.
There were no traces but she could tell that the kids were probably ambushed on their way in a certain direction. While that direction may not give her some clues, where they came from might.
