Now a few questions I know need answering about the parts of a saxophone, or sax for short. First is the actual instrument with all the keys obviously. then for sax there is the neck, this part is easier to notice for alto and tenor, the two main saxophones. It's the part that has the cork on it. Then we have the mouthpiece and reed, the mouthpiece is as it says your mouth goes on it and it's placed on the necks cork. Then we have the reed which is placed on the mouthpiece, you want it to end slightly before the end of the mouthpiece. Basically you look directly at the mouthpiece on the flat part where the reed is placed and leave a sliver of plastic, or metal in some cases, visible. There is a small gap between the reed and mouthpiece that gives it room to vibrate, and believe it or not how much space is there can completely change how the instrument sounds. but yeah that's it, if you have questions leave them in the comments.
