Chapter 6 - Bunker Building; The history of Zombies

November 31st, The supposed day of the Apocalypse...

Over the past couple of weeks, with the help of a certain reincarnated son of his, Adrian became a quick millionaire and decided to stop investing to remove suspicions of illegal monitoring of certain companies.

He was quick to move out of his previous humble abode and decided to purchase a bunker. While he played with little Marcus, he made a mental list of all the official things he will be needed in a bunker, especially if he wants it to be as self-sustainable as possible.

Firstly, he needs these few things for minimal survival:-

the ability to produce food (when the stored food runs out)

a site with a low water table (i.e. where we could actually have a dry bunker), but one where

underground water could be tapped

a means of scrubbing waste air and water for reuse

a means of eliminating unusable/dangerous waste, from the habitat

vitamins to ward off the effects of reduced sunlight, proteins, etc.

medical knowledge and supplies

an escape plan and means

and, not the least, diversions, to defend against boredom.

Primarily, he'd need to worry about food and water, but this would be simple. The invention of the seawater converters is currently present in countries such as the one currently present in Saudi Arabia, and the ones currently in development to extract salt and water through the help of sunlight.

With the help of the totally 'inconspicuous' drawings made by Marcus, it was rather cheap to install automatic water purifiers.

While this was going on, Adrian slowly collected information from his son, slowly making sure which plants couldn't mutate, and the ones that are most reactive to the apocalypse.

It turns out that the apocalypse seeded out nearly 50% of humanity with a certain type of x genome in their body.

This would result in mass extinction along with the mutation of animals and... the zombies, which soon evolved in an unbelievable place, quickly leading to 2029, when humanity's first and largest colony, the Syndicate, had successfully replicated the zombies to create humanity's first line of defence, the Dragoons.

The Dragoons had their y genome partially activated, which resulted in increased brain activity, also causing increased memory capabilities and improved functioning of senses and the birth of superpowers.

From the power to control the 4 elements to specific powers related to the objects or things precious to them, it seemed like humanity would win.

However, under the Assassination of doctor Kusuo, Creator of the Genetic Enhancement project and the sole reason for the existence of the Dragoons was killed by the stupid madmen of humanity.

This was while humanity was on the critical stage of researching the brain activity of zombies, when a gem-like substance was found inside their skeletal structure, extending from their spinal cord.

This experiment started around the time when zombies started to predate other zombies, with the mutants choosing to hunt more and more quantities of zombies

And the food they need is the special gel in the zombie's brain.

From the performance of the researched zombies, the special gel can further mutate the virus in their bodies, and the effect is obvious.

And through further research, it has been shown that a zombie or even a mutant zombie would choose to prey on a human than a horde of zombies as humans are comparatively weaker, all while leading to greater growth in the zombie's virus than hunting multiple other mutant zombies, leading to their increased hunting.

But it was then found out that ingesting oneself with the spinal fluid of a zombie while holding a zombie's virus gel would result in the growth of powers as well as completely changing human physique while retaining all sex features and showing powers on an atrociously large scale.

It was then found that the earlier in the apocalypse you have done this, the better the results would have been, as the environmental changes had resulted in an over-accumulation of the toxic antibodies from the zombies that had now polluted both air and the water.

So the sooner it was done, the quicker and stronger the results would be. One other thing to consider was that most 1st tier zombies

It's really complicated to think about in all honesty. Ordinary survivors are unaware and were hence too late to hide from zombies, but they had to take the initiative to find zombies.

The most important thing is to hunt mutant zombies around you since they were the most life-threatening and had the ability to grant the so-called 'holy' elemental abilities.

However, it was later found out that once a mutant zombie with elemental abilities is 'absorbed' its powers will not grow and need to be strengthened by absorbing more zombies, this would also mean that people slowly started overhunting mutant zombies, alerting the first and only guardian zombie ever found, the titan zombie named Prometheus, the great titan of death.

Obviously, Prometheus was a giant flaming titan that destroyed most of the Syndicate's properties, at last, only to be killed by the Amazonians, a group of female dragoons staying in the east.

Which was surprisingly an estimated 10 to 20 miles away from their base, alongside the Spartans, an all men tribe that dominated most of the Apocalypse with their boss Alcides, the battle junkie and war-minded leader of the Spartans who singlehandedly held back Prometheus while the two titans of humanity fiercely clashed valiantly against Prometheus.

With the discovery of the ancient scrolls guarded by Prometheus, it was found out that zombies were existing since the beginning of time, with the Guardians, ancient zombies millions of years old responsible for safekeeping ancient history.

Over the course of the next 6 months, humanity prepared for war, only to face a crushing defeat against Typhon, a monster from hell, a chimera with skills never seen before and probably humanity's last nightmare, as it was responsible for the creation of zombies, or so it was understood.

However, as humanity was on its last legs, Marcus found hope by regressing, and he will lead his father until he can potentially defeat Typhon single-handedly.

[But first, how do I open this can of pickles?] Marcus asked as tears rolled down his supple cheeks. Just why is he so weak???

That's it for this chapter. I sincerely hope you guys can add the book to your libraries and add comments as it truly motivates me to the moon. Thanks for the support and Bye!!
