Chapter 72 - Mision Part 2

While the students of Anthos Academy were going through troubles with the renegade members of the abyssal cult. The wall near the border of the Duchy and the Kingdom of Austria to protect against the incursion of the abyssal creatures was fighting a surprise attack.

"The abyssal dire wolves!"

A huge pack of giant black-colored wolves rushed towards the walls.

The abyssal wolves were still a great threat despite the thick and high walls surrounding them. The abyssal wolves were monsters influenced by abyssal power, so they had abnormal jumping abilities as well as steel claws. This made it more difficult for the soldiers and army of the Kingdom of Austria to kill them.

They had to be careful when fighting abyssal wolves. A single misstep and an abyssal wolf could accidentally climb up the walls. If that happened, the front would collapse.

"Soldier, be careful!"

One of the soldiers shouted a warning to a young man. The boy deftly threw a spear toward the abyssal wolf that was clinging tightly to the walls below.

Bang!

"Kaeng!"

The abyssal wolf clinging to the wall received the impact of the spear and fell with a howl. With a single spear, the boy was able to easily send an abyssal wolf to the ground. While it wouldn't die from such a small spear, it was more than enough for them.

Just making them fall and lose their balance on the walls was more than enough to stop their advances. Besides, the abyssal wolf would suffer serious injuries after falling from such a height.

"There's a breach! Block them!"

"Where the hell did the breach come from!"

"Stop them!"

The soldiers gripped their spears as they stopped the ferocious ascent of the abyssal wolves. They were able to resist the werewolves as they were able to awaken their aura, albeit with strength. However, due to the difference in size and aura, they were starting to be pushed back.

"Waaaah! We... We're being pushed back!"

The legs of one of the soldiers almost gave out in fear when he saw the front being pushed back. But before he could lose his head in fear, a young blond-haired man approached him from the other end of the wall.

"Calm down."

Before the soldier knew it, the blond youth had already fired aura spears at the abyssal wolves.

Bang, bang, bang!

"Grrrrr..."

The abyssal wolves instinctively knew that the spears were aimed at their eyes, so they immediately raised their front paws to cover their faces. Because of this, they lost their grip on the walls and fell.

After receiving a breath, the soldier quickly lifted his companions who were hanging precariously on the walls. Then, they all drew their swords to fight another arduous battle.

"Grraaaawr!"

One of the abyssal wolves pierced his spears and lunged toward the young blond with a roar.

"Watch out, Edward!"

It was no wonder that the Young Man was torn to pieces by the huge Abyssal wolf. But the boy was able to quickly dodge its huge jaws and cut open his belly. The boy's sword, covered with red Aura, easily pierced through the thick skin of the Abyssal wolf and inflicted a mortal wound.

However, abyssal wolves were medium and high-level monsters. Receiving such a wound was not enough to cause their death. The abyssal wolf wagged its tail and repelled the approaching soldiers. Then it swiftly pounced on the young boy who had wounded its belly.

But the boy easily dodged its bites and swords. The boy moved with incredible speed as he launched his counterattack. He was able to slash the abyssal wolf's back, neck, waist, and stomach one after another.

"Grrrrr..."

"Good job!"

Stab!

The boy finished off the abysmal wolf with a final stab to the forehead. He praised the soldiers for their hard work before moving on to his next prey.

There were many abyssal wolves and black lions trying to climb the walls, but the young boy was able to stop them with the slightest of movements. The boy would shoot spears and aim for the eyes of the abyssal wolves or throw spears to make them fall.

Although his attacks were simple, he was able to drive the abyssal wolves back with his precise and accurate timing. He was also able to help the soldiers easily kill the wolves and lions, which helped minimize their physical exhaustion.

"Don't get too agitated. Throw your weapons at the ones that seem most likely to jump."

"This side is going to catch up with us soon."

"Keep them at bay with your spear. I'm leaving now."

The boy moved busily flitting back and forth as he helped the soldiers who seemed to be in danger.

The soldiers watched the blond young man named Edward, flitting back and forth and displaying his excellent and rational judgments. They could see that he was guiding them like a soldier who has rolled around the battlefield for decades. As a result, the soldiers began to regard him as a true leader. However, no one knew that the young man named Edward was very troubled.

A surprise attack on the Kingdom of Austria, no one at the guard posts noticed. The commander of his regiment was missing. Everything pointed to the fact that this was planned and he could do nothing but just do his best and prevent this part of the wall from being destroyed.

He is currently a 4-star swordsman and a 5-star blood fighter. However, he is only 17 years old and his body can only handle so many attacks.

While Edward handled the attacks with what he could, the soldiers had recognized that the Edward had overwhelming judgment and skills. But even the other captains, such as the Geneva and Roman, were also showing incredible performances on the battlefield.

"So it's over."

The soldiers merely nodded blankly as they looked at the young man wiping his sweat in front of them. They couldn't believe such things had just happened.

Thanks to the stellar performance of the 3 captains, they were able to stop the abysmal wolves and lions with only minor injuries.

All the soldiers were shocked. Even the commissioned officers who rushed to help deal with the situation were shocked to see the crazy performance of the captains.

"They really stopped it."

****

I never imagined that a mercenary group would be the culprit. Besides, they didn't just attack the Duchy students, we didn't expect kidnapping students to be their mission.

"How long has it been since Roland was attacked?"

"It hasn't been an hour yet."

"Then he's still on his way to the beginning of the borderland."

Heinz pulled the dagger out of the side attacker's head. He then received two more daggers from his team and mounted them inside his boots and belt.

"Sir, we're ready to go after."

"No, I'm the one who's going to rescue Roland. Stay here and finish first aid, join the remaining Group 1 and request help from Young Master Raimon."

"Young Master Raimon will arrive in two days at this place."

"Yes?"

The group members showed signs of embarrassment.

"All the attackers we met were four-star fighters. Twenty-one of them are gone, Master! "

"No sir. Please take us with you."

"Roland is strong, but there may be an ambush. Frankly, tracking is too dangerous. I'd rather ask you to help me with Young Master..."

The group members did not speak.

Tracking and rescuing, as they say, is dangerous.
