Chapter 3 - New life

Alexander previously often had this thought.

Am I destined to fail?

This young man, full of potential, had not yet reached his thirties. He didn't always have this belief in mind when he was growing up. There was a time when he had ambitious goals and big dreams, just like anyone else. To be able to marry a beautiful woman, have a lot of money, and collect different things.

For example, one of those dreams came true the day he was accepted to the best university in his country, with dreams of success and many wishes to fulfill in the future, as well as meeting love for the first time.

During his childhood, Alexander believed that his future held great success, honor, and fame, just like his father and his sister, whom he deeply admired.

However, Alexander had no talent and simply struggled to achieve what he did over the years. His talented siblings always got what sleepless nights and worries he obtained.

Over the generations, members of Alexander's family would become highly regarded scientists, graduates, or doctors in the country. In the long history of the family, which exceeded four generations, there was not a single child in the family who did not achieve success before the age of 24.

One young man in the family would become a recognized powerhouse in his field by the age of 26, travel the world and get many job applications, thus gaining the success that many people in the country would never have.

But Alexander was 25 when he became a graduate of the university in the biomedical field, after hard efforts. However, even a clown with no talent whatsoever could achieve this feat under the right conditions, provided he tried hard enough.

As they had seen Alexander's remarkable efforts, his siblings despised him in every way, causing him to isolate himself from the family and start his own life with great difficulty.

But it wasn't that he had no talent.

It wasn't that at all.

After leaving his family, Alexander was surprised to learn that his talent in the field of science was very great at analyzing data, so he got a very well-paid job, thus fulfilling one of the desires he had as a young man.

While wandering, he accidentally became a disciple of a great scientist, and after three years of training, it seemed that luck came back into his life.

He was on a solid path to becoming a great figure in the field of science of his era. A scientist recognized by all was a being that all his acquaintances longed for.

In addition, Alexander learned that he had also been gifted with the gift of gab, thus gaining the respect of many people whenever he had to expound on some of his research.

Alexander, full of new desires, embarked on a very repetitive job in a company that paid him very well. However, such days of repeating the same old thing caused our energetic young man to begin to wonder if what he was doing was the right thing to do.

Wonder if that way of thinking could be his subconscious way of telling him that at the end of the day, he would just keep trying to please others and if those childhood dreams were what he wanted.

After realizing that some of his decisions may have been made only with others in mind and not himself, Alexander began to grow bored and resentful of the kind of life he had taken on.

Day after day passing, when young Alexander turned 29 he was finally able to open his eyes to the people around him. A boss bent on exploiting his talents to the fullest without adequate incentives, a family that only looked at their own lives and accomplishments.

Alexander began to take refuge in novels he found online that talked about people who had the same problems and that once they were free of all their burdens they would start living lives full of adventures and exciting things.

Following this habit, Alexander began to notice very strange things in his life. People who work themselves to death in order to have a good status, families that instead of seeking emotional stability treated material goods as their ultimate goal.

After analyzing all kinds of things that happened in his daily life with all his acquaintances, Alexander then understood that this world was rotten. A world where rules restrict many things and full of selfish people who spend their days trying to fulfill other people's expectations was painful to live in.

In 10 years, following the routine he had, he would become so well known that he wouldn't have to hide from his family and friends who had cast him aside. All that was left to do was to become the best scientist and be recognized.

'It seems I really am destined for failure.'

Alexander spat out a mouthful of blood. He was bleeding everywhere, including his eyes, nose and ears. Apparently, there had been an accident in the laboratory where he worked as there had been a very large explosion, and being forced to work overtime he had met with such misfortune.

Death loomed over him.

He had not even had a chance to use his new reputation, spend his large salary, or talk to his family again.

... As he slept.

Many memories and regrets kept filling his mind, and he could only regretfully accept this foolish end. He couldn't even react because he had just finished his research and had fallen asleep from exhaustion.

What a ridiculous death! He wanted to scream in madness at the absurdity, but the only thing that escaped from his blood-filled mouth was a delirious laugh.

He was at death's door, and no one was by his side.

Not his master who cared for him, not his brothers and family who had left him aside, not a single person.

Why had the heavens bothered to give me a chance, only to take it away from me immediately?

And so Alexander closed his eyes.

Although he had no lingering feelings, he regretted his life very much. Then, returning to awaken, Alexander lived the most peaceful moment he could have had since he was born in a space filled with silence.

Accompanied by countless regrets and a view of a fantasy planet, Alexander decided that the mistakes he had made he would try to avoid if he had a new life and proceeded to enter the door that he believed would lead him to a new reincarnation until he felt a tug on his soul by the fantasy world before him and everything went black.
