Chapter 1 - Saigo no Ringu

PROLOGUE

It was a dark night. The cold wind rippled in the drops of rain that fell continuously. Peace enveloped the atmosphere ... but in a certain place where once there seemed to be a house, now there was nothing but rubble. The vision of that landscape was truly terrible and sad at the same time.

He could not be seen but in the midst of this bustle of concrete and broken glass someone was lying there on the ground devoid of any strength. The rain water was mixing with the blood present on his fingers, full of wounds and the nails seemed to have worn out. He looked like he had been digging for who knows how long with all his might in the midst of this disaster, as if he were looking for something of vital importance. But unfortunately for a normal person to lift those large blocks of concrete and wood was almost impossible ... yet he continued as if he did not want to accept the reality that was in front of him.

"Cough! Cough! ..."

The dust that had condensed in the air was accumulating in his lungs obstructing the passage of air, but he still managed to pronounce words

"I have to continue ... no matter what"

With a slow motion he placed both hands on a concrete slab about 5 meters long that stood at his feet. He planted his trembling arms on it and gritting his teeth pushed with everything he had.

"NnNNNhhh… Spluaht! ??

A dark red liquid poured out of his mouth leaving him with a strong iron aftertaste.

"Nh ... Wahh!?!"

The grip of his hands loosened and the boulder swiftly returned to him, who tried desperately to move to the side but slipped under the wet ground.

SLAM!

"AAAAAAAaaaaaahhhhh !!! COUGH! COUGH ... "

He spat out all the air he had in his lungs along with some other blood. And like a glass bottle being broken, something could be heard from inside his chest.

"Anf Anf ... D-I have to keep looking ... Coguh!"

Like a rat in a trap he shuffled left and right but it was all in vain, his every movement was blocked. The longer she stayed there the more the blood kept accumulating in his throat choking him…

"Shit…"

"SHIT! SHIT! ... I'm fucking useless! "

He struggled to take the slightest breath but calmly he took small amounts of oxygen and gathered the last strength.

"Aaah ..."

With his hand she grabbed the great boulder. He felt a stinging pain in the palm of his right hand from the splinters making their way into his skin but he didn't care.

He couldn't give up.

FLASH!

A column of light splashes out of the cracks in the rock.

It looked like something like a laser beam of about one meter in diameter that illuminated the whole surrounding environment. The light was so pure white it looked like it had been melted by the sun.

The instant the light disappeared, he pushed his battered right hand towards the boulder with force.

BANG !!

The mass moved at great speed as if it were made of Styrofoam.

Hearing the sound of the impact made us think it had returned to its original weight.

After freeing himself he tried to get up but his body didn't respond ...

"Anf Anf ... don't tell me ... don't tell me that I've already exhausted my last energies ... shit!"

For a moment he gritted his teeth so hard they seemed to break.

"Fuck yourself! I have to ... I have to keep looking ... "

His legs were shaking and he was struggling even to breathe, he was probably about to lose consciousness.

"Tch… don't abandon me now… don't… I don't want it to end like this! It didn't have to end like this! "

A desperate scream echoed in that darkness ... without reaching anyone.

He could slowly hear his voice becoming more and more distant.

"..."

With a gentle motion his right hand revived for a moment.

With a gentle motion his right hand came to life for a moment.

He rummaged in his pockets and pulled out what appeared to be a photo.

It was all wrinkled and broken but he was still happy to be able to see what it represents one last time.

"Haha ... Who thought it would end like this ..."

A small smile formed on his face as salty-tasting drops reached his blood-soaked lips. The shaking of his body was becoming uneven.

Splash!

His arm dropped all strength and fell to the wet ground.

"Being a hero ... doesn't really suit me huh?

He spat these words out with a small smile that hid his anger and sadness, and slowly closed his eyes let the darkness envelop him.
