Edmund stood a step away and asked with quiet seriousness, "May I have a moment of your time in private?" His tone was calm, but there was an undercurrent of urgency in his voice.
Arihan's brow furrowed, his protective instincts flaring. However, Alora gave a small nod in acceptance. "Very well," she said. She would hear him out if Edmund had to say anything about the dukedom or needed her help.
Arihan was speechless for a moment. He couldn't believe she accepted to be with a man in private without even considering the implications.
