Zander had appointed some to keep an eye on Agost's activities so when they noticed Agost open the wind and send the bird, they waited for it to reach some distance and shot the bird.
They carried the bird and letter to Zander's study room. Zander identified the men and removed the thin cloth from the basket they were holding.
The arrow was still pierced into the body of the pigeon and the bird was yet to take its last breath.
A pigeon?
Pigeons aren't nocturnal birds. They are daytime birds, and their vision functions better during the day. They rarely move or fly at night. They can see at night, but they don't see it very well.
It had been centuries since people used pigeons for communication or to share secrets. Anyway, using it at night was even strange.
Nonetheless, Zander untied the letter and sent the pigeon away. He opened the small letter and read the content.
