Xaloc's attack met empty space as Jamal appeared behind him.
Xaloc turned behind him and saw the other's twinkling lilac eyes. Xaloc's eyes were aflame as the purple mist surrounded Jamal yet they were so easily deflected.
Xalov struggled to keep his calm as he assimilated all that he was taught for the past six months as he attacked Jamal again.
"In close combat, you should not always be in the enemy's eyes. You should focus on the opponent's shoulder. No matter which movement, the shoulder would always move first."
The sword cut into the air as Jamal moved behind him once more.
"Your speed is critical, the speed is not the speed of your sword but the speed of the movements of your legs."
Xaloc moved faster but Jamal fell behind him. It was as though every slight rotation, every sharp spin, allowed him to circle around Xaloc and arrive right behind him over and over again.
