Tafari's fingers trembled at Xaloc's words. He believed that Xaloc would not deceive him. Could it be that there was nothing that he could do to prevent Slate from sleeping in his bed?
As for how the scenario came about. Slate's tent had incidentally caught on fire in the middle of the night, as it was too late to fix it. Tafari had volunteered his tent for the Intelligence officer to stay in. The problem is now how to move Slate from said tent. Any new tent mysteriously burns and Tafari could not continue wasting his base resources.
Going to Indigo and Xaloc had borne no fruit. Tafari took a deep breath, the only thing he could do was wait for the other to get bored so he could leave by himself.
Jamal felt pity for the warrior so he smiled at him. "Let us go outside." He did not want to damage anything in their home as he did not plan to pull any punches, that would be an insult to someone like Tafari.
