There are a lot of things that can affect the outcome of trials, and some go as far as to prevent its completion. The Game master views this as a loss since the amusement of the gods comes first and foremost. Because the players are unpredictable, and if one weren't swayed by bountiful rewards, they'll forcefully do so. The position they have as the GM is nothing to ignore for they have absolute control of the trials and their unknown effects
