Chereads / Seduced By My Rogue Mate / Chapter 36 - Unfolding Drama

Chapter 36 - Unfolding Drama

"Forgotten what?" Mek looked betrayed as he asked the question. And I wanted nothing more than to take him in my embrace and tell him it's all lies.

I wanted to reassure him that he's the only one after my heart, and no one else. The hurt on his face is tearing my heart out. It's painful to watch.

"I'm his girlfriend." Jyn smirked, "we haven't been dating for long, so I get the reason he can't be told you about us. He's still waiting to validate some claims before he breaks the news."

"You got a girlfriend, and you never bothered to tell me about it." He turned to me in question, "I thought —" He opened his mouth, and closed it.

It seems he doesn't know what to say, at all. Jyn on her own looks like a person who has won a competition of some sort. Looking at her now, I feel like bashing my head on the wall or sending out.

I don't like the look on Mek's face, not at all. Jyn pinched me painfully, and I bumped in shock.

"Yes, she's my girlfriend. She asked me to keep it a secret until we are officially together. I guess that's the reason I never said anything."

And like that, Jyn and I became the actors in this movie we had, playing out.

"I see," Mek said before he walked toward us, but at the last minute, he walked towards the parlour.

With Mek gone, Jyn dragged me towards the kitchen.

"I'm hungry, I need you to cook for me!" She shouts, loud enough for Mek to hear.

"What happened?" I mouth to Jyn who's still smirking.

"He's jealous." She smirked some more, "he might be trying to hide it, but it's obvious as the day that he's jealous." She took a seat in the kitchen.

"But I don't think so. I know who I'm leaving with, Mek isn't jealous. He's not the type to bottle his feeling. He makes them known, all the time."

Should Mek be angry, he makes sure everyone knows he's angry. He's not the type to pretend you be okay. You must see it in his face, that he's not.

But right now, he doesn't look like he's not okay. He looks unconcerned about everything. It's as if he doesn't give a damn what happens to me. I don't think this will work.

"I'm the one telling to in this, Fern. Don't worry about that, I know what I'm doing. My plans are almost —" she paused in her speech, "when are we telling the pack?"

"Pardon?" I turn to her, "what are you talking about? I've not told h—"

"Our mating ceremony. When are we having it? I don't think I can continue this relationship without the ceremony. I'm a fe —"

Mek walked into the kitchen, and gave Jyn a very dark look that would have killed her had it been bullets.

"Do you want anything?" I asked, eager to please.

"Focus on your girlfriend. I just came to take some water," he said in a clipped tone.

"I can help you get the wa—"

"Can you stop, already?" He frowned at me, "I came to get some water for my sore throat. You can continue with what you were doing before I walked inside.

Ignore me, please."

"But —"

"I'm out of here." And he left, without taking any water with him.

"What of your water?" I called out in concern, "what of your sore throat?"

"Can I get some?" Jyn smiled, "someone seems like he would rather not have the water. Can I have it, instead?"

"Get —"

She levelled me with a look, and that cut my thoughts from what I was about to say.

"With due pleasure, my girlfriend." I frown at her before I walked over to get the water she asked for.

"Thank you, love. This is the most crystal-looking water I've ever seen." She gushed but didn't drink the water. She left it on the table, and faced me, once again.

"You are —"

"What are you making?" Mek asked when he entered the room once more. This time, he sat on the chair opposite Jyn.

"What?" My eyes seem to ask Jyn the question.

"Fern, what are you making?" He deeply frowned.

"Oh, I —"

"He's making a special dinner, just for me. Why do you want to know what he's making?" Jyn frowned, folding her arm in anger.

"Oh, did he write your name on the food?" He turned to Jyn, in question. "I live in this house, so I am entitled to ask what he's making. You are just a visitor."

You can do this Fern. You are the rogue leader, stop acting like a fool wherever he's concerned.

"What —"

"She's not a visitor. She's my girlfriend, and you don't see why I need to make a special lunch for her?"

"What?" Mek looked betrayed and confused, while Jyn looks like she was on top of the world.

"And that came from my boyfriend. You shouldn't be too envious of me Alpha, I'm his girlfriend, and you are just someone, who happened to live with him.

Well, very soon, after our mating ceremony has been done, I'm officially packing into the house, and that will be bye-bye to you." She made a farewell motion towards him.

Mek gave her a dark look. His jaw ticked in anger, his eyes turned deep golden. His hands were folded in fists, as he glared at her.

He looks as if he's seconds from throwing her out of the house should she continue with her talking.

But he did no such thing. All he did was join his two palms and then turned to me.

"Can you add my name to the meal, too? I'm famished. You know, I haven't properly eaten since last night."

"You said you didn't have an appetite then."

"I have one now." He touched his stomach, "I think I might die if I don't eat," he groaned.

I had to ball my hands into fists and dig my toenails into the carpet, to prevent my legs from running toward him.

"Dramatic much? Tune it down."
