Chereads / Seduced By My Rogue Mate / Chapter 19 - The real Alpha lives in you

Chapter 19 - The real Alpha lives in you

"But… I… I thought you promised to let my pack live in exchange for my freedom?" I frown at the same male who promised to let my pack members go.

"That was what I promised, and I've fulfilled it, love."

I ball my hand into a fist as I fought the urge to snap back at him for making use of that love word when talking to me. I don't want him to think of punishing my pack just because I spoke back at him.

There's no telling what he might do to them should I talk back.

"I thought you'll leave them be?"

When I gave up my title as the Alpha of the pack, I thought the rogue will let my pack live in peace.

"And allow another Alpha to take your place?" He asked that question as if the thought of it seems so plausible.

"What do you care?"

I don't get the reason he'll be after keeping my pack for me, when it's obvious he only wants to disgrace me and my pack.

"I care for everything that belonged to you," he said in a low tone of voice as he walked closer to me. "Everything that is yours automatically fell into my care," he lightly caressed my hair

At first, I sighed. But that was until I remembered where I am, and who it is that has his hand on my hair.

"What do you think you're doing?" I separate from him and created a large, pronounced distance between us.

"I'm trying to soothe your aching soul," he winked.

" Go to hell."

" I will gladly do that if I have you there with me."

" Insufferable rogue…."

I Yelp when he held me in his grip, expertly preventing me from going inside my room like I had intended to do.

" I have a name, you know?" He whispered into my ears, causing me to shiver a bit at the proximity and his breath on my neck.

"I Will make use of any name I want to make use of. You are not entitled to tell me what to call you, and whatnot." I sneered to cover up the indescribable feeling I'm currently having.

'You seem to love been punished, Mek. I never knew you're this naughty." He chuckled at his words, "I'll gladly…."

"Fern, let go of me," I called out to him when I heard the punishment word.

The word is a sort of trigger to me. It's the only word that's capable of unleashing my docile inner self.

"Too bad, I was hoping to have a little play with you before we leave for the pack. Nevertheless, I still like the way my name sounded coming from your mouth." He chuckled as he released me from his tight grip.

I stretched a bit as I levelled a glare his way to tell him how I feel.

But the rogue doesn't seem to feel the hotness of my gaze on him. If anything, he pretended not to see me.

" Get ready, we're leaving before the moon makes an appearance. We are not going to waste time there, so you better hurry." He turned to leave.

"Wait a minute,"

" what's it now?" He turned to me. The smirk I so much hate is still present on his face.

" Are we…. Am I following you to the pack?" I asked to be certain I didn't hear wrong.

" You heard right. We are both going back to your pack to visit them, and also show the rebellious ones among them that their beloved Alpha is alive and kicking."

" I'm going nowhere." I frown at him as I stubbornly fold my arms. " You can't force me to go back to the pack."

In no way am I going back to my pack this way.

"You will follow me there, and you will gladly do so." He smirked, "get ready. Dress in your best, you're going back to your pack."

His words sparked a little hope in me. My eyes immediately glistened at his words.

"You're taking me home?" I asked, unable to contain the happiness I feel from the words he just spoke.

This is too good to be true.

He laughed at my words. The sound resounded around the entire pack. "And why should I take you home, my pretty Alpha?"

I frown at his words," but you said…"

" I know what I said. I said I'm taking you home, but that doesn't mean I'm going to return you to your pack, and leave you there.

I'm taking you for a visit to your pack. At least, that's the least I can do for you." He walked away after saying those words.

I should have known.

I slid down to the floor. Joining my legs together, I cross my right hand around it and placed my head on the gap my knees created.

Getting my hopes up just for it to be dashed isn't worth anything.

I should have known better. I shouldn't have allowed my heart hope.

I ended up following him to my pack. And I only did that for the fact he threatened to deal with Kel should I not follow him.

I just had to follow him to prevent having him go on a rampage against my poor pack members.

"Even without the title of the Alpha, you still care about your pack." The rogue commented when I decided to follow him to prevent him from making good on his threats.

"An Alpha is just a title. The real Alpha lives in us. The name is merely there to give distinctions, but what makes a person an Alpha isn't the name.

What makes you an Alpha is what you have in you, and it's something no one can be able to take from you.

No one can punish the Alpha out of you." I give him a deadly look as I said those lines.

I want him to be aware of the fact I'm talking about him and his weird obsession with wanting to tame me.
