Leaving the training building behind, I walk towards the life in the building of the Alphas. The pack is made up of different houses, and three main important buildings.
The first building is the one I just exited, the training house is a place where all our training and wrestling matches take place. Before it was built, the pack normally trains near the only river we have in our town, but that was until the third Alpha built the house.
The second building is for the singles. This is a place where all the unmated wolves stay until they get a mate, and subsequently, they move into one of the many houses we have in our pack.
This was the place I lived in for two years before my Alpha potential got awakened.
The third but not the least building is the Alphas' building. This is the place the Alphas *Both married and unmarried* live in.
Presently, we're only two Alphas living there.
"Good day Alpha!" Kal greets. Waving a bit, she rushes off to meet her friends who're beckoning to her.
"Children." Kil placed his hand on my shoulder.
Out of reflex, I flip him. Putting my knee on his body, I turn his hand.
Expertly turning him, I had him in a chokehold before he can make a sound.
"Ouch!" He cried out.
"Sorry." I hastily let go of him, as I stood to my full height. "It was more of a reflex action, I didn't mean you any harm." I apologize.
Giving him a hand, I help him up.
"I'm certain that, but you need to stop doing this shit all the time. I'm tired of walking around with an aching back."
" I'm sorry, okay? " I smile at him.
" It's okay. " Slowly rubbing his back, he gives me a look. "Just thank the goddess you happened to be my best friend. Had that bit been the case, I would have shown you exactly what am capable of."
"I get it." I nod with a straight face as I expertly tried not to smile.
"You think I can't beat your arse?"
"I don't doubt that." I purse my lips. "I never doubt that at all."
"Better."
" Where are you heading to? " I give him a look.
During the day, the members of the pack all go about their daily business. Seeing Kil on a normal day isn't normal at all.
"The Alpha called for a meeting." He tilts his head, "weren't you informed?" He frowns in contemplation.
"I wasn't… Oh. I guess that was what that maid wanted to tell me about." The water distracted her from doing so.
" You and your effects on females. " He gently claps my back. " I wish I have that effect on females. "
" Don't let your mate hear that from you. "
" She won't. Moreover, I am not doing anything bad. "
" I see. " I give him a sceptical look.
" Am not. "
" And am not saying you are."
" Of course, you're not. " He made to touch my shoulder but thought better of that.
" Let's go ahead then since we're going to the same place. " My hot bath will have to wait. Currently, there's a meeting I need to attend.
"Let's go. The old Alpha must be tired out of his bones."
" I bet."
*
My Beta gives me a look the moment I came in.
From the dark look on his face, it's not all that difficult for me to know he's still thinking about our earlier play battle. Knowing him, he's still thinking about how possible it is I get to know most of his fighting patterns.
"So good of you to join us." Alpha Rich gives me a look. I know how much he hates tardiness, especially when it comes from me.
Others might be exempted from punishment when it comes to certain terms, but I'm not among those.
Far be it, the Alpha will allow me to get away with most of the things others get away with.
"Sorry about that. I wasn't aware of the meeting until a few minutes ago." I apologized.
" Should have known sending that girl won't get the job done." He murmurs, but it's clear enough for me to hear him.
The others in the room might not hear his exact words, but nothing can escape the advanced hearing of an Alpha.
"You see, that's why am always the messenger." Kil saunters in.
We would have walked in at the same time, but Kil wants to have a grand entrance, that's why he stayed outside until I came in before he did so.
"And why are you late?" The old Alpha booms.
"Alpha Mek *is funny how he makes use of my Alpha title in front of others, but the same can't be said when we're alone* is the cause of that. I had to go find him as am quite informed he's not aware of the meeting." He says with an apologetic smile.
Typical Kil, always utilizing me to exempt himself from punishment.
"You can have a seat. We're about to start." The Alpha stands from his chair.
The meeting room is just like a normal boardroom, a large table is set in the middle of the room, and on it are maps of the territory owned by the Moon fall pack.
Our pack might not be the largest of the other packs, but it sure has enough to be considered the third-largest in the country, and for this reason alone, we're generally plagued with fending off other packs that tried to take advantage of us.
This is the reason we formed the pack of defenders. As a group, the pack of defenders must defend the pack from other wolves that might try to take advantage of us.
Surrounding the large table are thirteen chairs, one at the head, and the rest facing each other.
Walking to the chair next to one at the head, I made you sit, but the old Alpha stopped me from doing so.
