Chapter 365 - Chapter 353 | Presidential Election

Christopher–the one and only man who ran to become the senate and successfully secured his position with Ian's financial aid walked in with a big smile on his face.

Ian stood up from his chair and walked to greet the man with open arms.

"Christopher, how have you been? It's been months since I last saw you," his warm voice made it obvious that Ian too, had been wanting to talk to Christopher.

Christopher shrugged and replied, "Not like your schedule helps either. So, how is it going?" He looked around the set to see people wrapping things up.

"Just wrapping up for the day. I wanted to talk to you about something, actually," Ian started by saying.

He showed the nearest chair using his hand and sat opposite him.

"I'm here for something too, Ian," Christopher mumbled, looking seriously at him.

Ian smiled. Partially, he had expected this to come, but he didn't know that it'd be this quickly.

"And we want the same thing, Christopher," Ian said with a matching smile that was on Christopher's face.

[In Renner's Office]

Ian and Christopher sat in front of each other. Both of them had just gotten their cups of coffee.

Ian was on his phone while the man opposite had his thoughts to himself. Christopher patiently waited until Ian kept the phone on the table.

"So?"

Ian chuckled. "I'll bet my entire company on why you're here," the smile gave a knowing look.

"Please, I'd love to acquire some more assets," Christopher joked and looked at Ian in his eyes.

"Presidential election."

Christopher's smile almost reached his ears.

"This time, I do have funds for the campaign, but my team says we need to up the game. And I think you can help me with it. Ian," Christopher was honest with what he needed to ask.

Both of them knew that beating around the bush would only make things weird. And by how Christopher looked at Ian, it was a given he needed the help this time around.

At the same time, Ian had something else in his mind.

"Well, what if I said we can both benefit from this?" Ian questioned and looked at Christopher.

The man willingly leaned forward on the table while focusing on what Ian just said.

"Anything, man. You helped me when I needed the help most, and trust me I'm helping and doing good for the people as much as I could. All thanks to you, and if I can do any help for you in return, name it."

Ian nodded with a smile. "Run for president. That's my only request."

He said with his underlying intentions.

During his whole time in Hollywood, there was only one thing he needed–and that was to acquire the power that Goofy had.

Ian knew that Goofy had a power similar to Disney in his previous world, and having that sort of power only meant that Goofy had political power, creativity power and also the power to do anything in the industry.

For he aimed to become a young genius, the perfect opportunity was for Christopher to acquire the position so that he could help with the rest.

Christopher smiled knowing Ian was up to something.

"Alright, man. Tell me about your new movie."

The environment around the office suddenly shifted as they started to talk about Star Wars.

-

The conversation ended after an hour worthy of discussion over Star Wars. Although Christopher didn't get time to watch movies and spend time going in and out of theaters, it was a given that he enjoyed talking about movies with Ian.

By the end of the conversation. Christopher stood up and shook hands with Ian.

"I appreciate it, Renner," Christopher gave a brief nod and walked out of the office.

After he walked out, his secretary walked towards him.

By the looks of it, the secretary must've stood outside the office room for quite some time.

"The meeting is in thirty minutes, sir," he said and said in a low tone.

The faces of the people who were around Ian's office turned towards them as Christopher smiled at them.

"We should get going."

-

On their way, while Christopher had his entire attention on his mobile, the volume of the radio turned up as the secretary realized it was NEWS that was broadcasting.

With that, a smile appeared on Christopher's face.

"We are going to win this time, aren't we, sir?" The secretary questioned, looking too confident about this election.

Christopher shook his head, "we'll see."

The uncertainty in his voice was clear. But in his heart, he had a little hope. If he were to win this election, it meant that a lot of people in the country would get the benefits that he had been promising left and right during the campaigns.

He sighed and watched the road pass by.
