The atmosphere was still filled with the air of the newly released book, Percy Jackson: The Sea of Monsters.
Yet the team of Renner Studios was busy with the shooting for The Fast and the Furious Ian denied even delaying the schedule of shooting considering how he'd need to be on time so that he could get on with his plans for the next year.
Raelynn, who worked equally hard for the movie, as a cinematographer still hoped something could happen between them—yet that was in the back of her head considering how she wanted the success of the movie herself.
Ever since Ian got back from Paris, they hadn't been talking much about anything at all, except work.
'Is the lightning alright?'
'Should the camera go north or south of the face?'
'I think it'd be better if we focused on this-'
'Raelynn, stand by - camera two'
'Rae, it wasn't supposed to come like this'
'Maybe try another angle'
These were the only types of words that were exchanged between them.
From the corner of her eyes, she saw Ian approaching the set with Richard Diesel, and Paul Walker. She smiled at them, who also smiled at her while Ian nodded in acknowledgment of the fact that she was standing there with her camera lens focused on the set.
"Trust me, it's always fun to see your puppy eyes," Niko remarked as he walked behind him.
"I didn't use my puppy eyes, what's wrong with you? Where's Keith? What is he doing?" She asked back.
"Didn't use… Girl, they just automatically show through your face. More like, eh, you can't hide them from me… Anyway, have you heard about how uncle Mason is about to retire on Christmas eve?"
"What- What? What…? I just can't really think of a good reason why, are you sure or are you just spreading fake rumors to grab attention?" Rae asked back.
They both started to walk towards the middle ground, where the cast and the team stood around Ian, who kept describing the next scene that they were about to do.
Raelynn had heard about how Mason was trying to retire from the producer position at the beginning of the year. Yet she couldn't help but think about what would make the Renner Studio.
Of how familiar and comfortable they'd grown with each other, following Ian, both the friends started to call Mason 'Uncle' earning a few mocks from Ian during the initial two attempts. But the sweet gesture grew inside their skin in no time.
"It's okay, don't ask or tell it to anyone," Niko whispered to her and walked around—away from where the director, producer, and the cinematographer stood; right in front of the cast.
"...As I was saying, from the last scene onwards, the rest is technical and tricky. Felix here—-everyone, as we know the man behind the brains of cars," Ian said, making Felix laugh. "Is going to help us, and I want to say that without permission no one is allowed to drive any of the cars-"
"Boring talks apart-" Felix chirped in. "The cars should be here any minute!"
He said and everyone cheered up. The people Ian hired had two types for them. There were the actors who were being trained back to back, with driving and handling street racing cars. And then, there were professionals.
Professionals in terms of people who Felix had a say in.
Nevertheless, within less than a few seconds, the people in the studio were stunned by what came toward them.
"Woah!"
"What on Earth!"
"Wow, look at those colors!"
"Oh my God!"
The little whispers were suddenly muted by the angry roar of engines. There were cars of different colors, speeding after one another. Red, yellow, blue, green, and orange were prominent.
Ian had asked the houses around the set to recolor their walls, as they had done in the original movie so that the colors of the cars could be enhanced.
The cars circled around the cast and the team, just like in a movie scene, and parked right in front of everyone who had their jaws on the floor.
"When I thought this movie was going to be amazing… I underestimated the value of the adjective!" someone from the background said to which Ian turned.
That was the actress who was represented as Letty Ortis in the movie. She was a grade-A actress, who had her name at the top list of Hollywood actresses. And as soon as the RedBo agency offered her the name list of the actors and actresses that they could provide, Ian accepted her without any second thoughts.
"How are these bad boys?" Felix asked, walking closer to Ian.
"Perfect! I want some scenes as we'd discussed before, and the rest would be up to editing. Rae, can we get the cast away from the grounds? This might take a few hours, and until then hand over the script for tomorrow?" Ian asked and walked away while Raelynn nodded following along.
The scene was of a street racing part. The specialty in these sorts of actions was how the portrayal of the cars had been done. The thrill for a watcher was when the sideline camera of the cars was taken loud and strong enough to give the chills.
"...And then, focus on the third camera… Red car? Alright?" Let's try taking a few shots. It should be OK with the right amount of VFX."
"Is everyone ready?"
"... Ready?"
"Camera rolling!"
"ACTION!"

"This is the model of the laptop, and the presentation here is how you asked, Mr. Renner," David, who was the technical guy, pushed forward the laptop which was brought and was supposed to be the laptop that controls the engines of the car that Brian owns.
"No, what about the one with the diagrams? I don't want the correct analysis… But thank you for trying, yet I want the diagrams to be seen more than the numbers… Can we change a few here and there?"
"Of course, sir."
"Alright, send it to Murphy when done. Is it fine if I-" As Ian was about to complete his question, he saw a guy who had been in front of his office room since morning.
With a file and a pen, he stood and kept looking here and there.
"Is it fine if I get three or more copies of the software? I have a few more ideas that I think I can try to develop… No offenses to yours, but I aim for a good cut in front of the cameras," Ian turned to look at the two gentlemen and smiled.
"It's okay, we'll prepare them and send them in no time. Thank you, Mr. Renner,"
"Thanks."
They both stood up and walked out of the office.
"Murphy, can I know who on Earth is standing in front of my office? I saw the guy being there for almost three hours now, what's going on?" Ian asked clearly and loudly.
"I'll check, Mr. Renner, give me a minute."
From the glass wall of the office, he saw Murphy approaching the tall guy with curly hair and asking something. The guy who shook his head and said something walked away in less than a minute.
"He said he was waiting for his friend-"
"It's alright, leave it."
Ian cut him off shortly and dismissed Murphy.

[On set]
"So, in this… Vince is going to turn and walk away… Letty and Leon follow him. Of course, Letty is going to look back.
"Then we go with… We're gone! We've nowhere else to go… He's cool. Like, you know, with that expression the conversation continues until in the end, Letty shoots him a glare. Can we try once before rolling?" Ian asked the actors who were ready to do the shot.
"...And, action!"
"Look... Give 'the look' you know, again… Action!"
"We're gone," Vince said.
"We got nowhere else to go, he's cool!" Leon replied.
"He's not, Leon. He's on Dominic's ass like a fag in heat. He gets on mine. I'm putting a bullet in his head."
"Shut up, Vince. Don't start shooting at people. He's just tripping on being in LA. He won't know what it's about yet," Letty chimed in.
"You know he's trying to hook up with Mia. Fool's dying to hit it."
"Mia won't kick down, I'll," Letty said.
"I know you will, Letty!" Leon said while Letty shot the glare that Ian asked for.
"Cut! That is awesome! Let's get it on camera then. Off the scripts go! Three two one… Sound?"
The scripts were off of their hands in a mini second, and the environment was ready to take a perfect scene.
