Chapter 13 - I Do Not Have A Son

Ophelia regretted why she let her sister go. The woods are dark and the mercenaries were still looking for them.

What if Olivia is in danger! Her heart sank as she walked to and fro at there entrance of house and stare toward the path every passing second.

"Finally!" she jumped on her feet and ran towards Olivia when she came in her view and hugged her tightly.

She did not realize how tense she was until she held her tightly in her arms.

"Oh Oli, I was so worried. What took you so long? No! You should not have gone in the first place." she complained yet she did not let go of her until she heard someone coughing.

Being injured Alex had thought that the man (Olivia) would help him in walking but who would have thought that after giving hand to stand up, he (Olivia) would forget about his existence and continue to walk away.

He somehow dragged his falling body. While stopping to take breath every now and then only to stumble on the R rated scene where the young boy (Olivia) was hugging his (Olivia) wife (Ophelia) in the middle of nowhere.

Was that the reason why he was in such a hurry to come back? He could not help but cough to remind them of his presence before they started kissing each other.

He was injured and he would vomit due to their PDA, it was going to hurt a lot.

"Do not worry too much. Aren't I fine! He is a friend I have saved in the forest honey. He is going to stay with us tonight." Although Ophelia did not understand how he could be a friend and was not sure which house Olivia was talking about, she nodded her head silently afraid that she might give away their secrets or create suspicions if she would open her mouth.

"This is our house, since my mother is sleeping in the only room we have and she doesn't like guests, it would be better that you stay with us in the hall and not make any noise.

Because if she decided to throw you out. I would not be able to change her mind." Alex nodded at her threatening tonne.

He was not expecting to be treated grandly as he knew it was a tribal and undeveloped area.

At least he did not need to spend the night with the beasts.

He still had to find which fool had shot him in the back!

So, without a complaint, he entered the hall and took the mattress and wore the blanket that was laid there.

Just as Oli was going to follow him, Ophelia held her hands and pulled her back as her eyes demanded an explanation.

"He is going to pay for our new house and other expenses in exchange for saving him. It is already close to dawn.

We did not have time to rest. Just act like you are sleeping for a while and I will wake you up when it is time for leaving." Ophelia felt Oli was hiding a lot of things and behaving completely differently than before yet she nodded and followed her back in the house where the man was already on the verge of sleeping.

Olivia stared at him deeply as she waited for him to give her reward but the pain was too much for him to bear and he was losing consciousness for a long time. He had lost a lot of blood.

Not to mention, he was slapped and then he dragged his body here. The exhaustion and pain took better off him.

"Tsk!" With a sneer at how leisurely he was enjoying the warmth of the blanket, she moved and lit the woods she had brought for Ophelia who was now on the floor and then walked back to him.

She shook his body but he did not move or react when her eyes calculated the number of gems and their worth again.

"I am sure one would be more than enough for your next day's survival." she muttered as she took away that blanket and started taking out jewels from his body.

Starting from the brock, she took out his chain, ring, cuff button sapphire and the stone on his cape but then stared at the embroidery of the cape that had small rubies into it. And took the whole cape with her.

Satisfied that nothing was left to take, she bundled every jewel in the cape diligently and stood up with a satisfied smile on her face.

"You know you are working like a professional thief!" Ophelia who was staring at the deligeient actions of her sister could not help but gape at her.

"Hey, this is my reward not robbery." she reminded her in a self righteous tone as she walked to the kitchen and packed all the food from there.

"The women have charged one extra coin so i must take after sales services!" nodding her head as if she was right there, she picked up everything and walked out happily with Ophelia.

The sky was still dark so she had taken a large wood with her that worked as a torch.

"Thank goodness, I asked the lady for directions while eating." muttered Ophelia as she had not expected they would leave the house in the middle of the night like robbers as she continued to guide her sisters whose hands were full with two bundles.

After a few hours,

"Hey, you thief! Did you steal everything from my kitchen! Get up!

The silver coins you have paid are not enough for that. I need more! Are you even listening!" Alex covered his ears with his hands to get rid of the the strong howls and shrieks but the person was not ready to let go as he took his blanket and threw cold water of his face only to realize he was not the man she had taken in her house yesterday while the man was more than annoyed.

"Who are you? No more than that, how are you going to pay for the bills?"

Trying to control his intent to kill, Alex closed his eyes as he thought that she was the mother the young boy (Olivia) was talking about.

He had indeed promised them a reward. With that thought he tried to take out his ring when his drowsy eyes opened wide.

The ring was not there. His hands instinctively checked his neck, his hands and then his shirt, cape.. Everything was gone!

The nerve of the family! Even after taking so much, she is still asking for money!

"Your son had already taken it all. Go and ask some from him and let me sleep for more. I will spend my day here until I call someone to pick me up!" with an annoyed look on his face, he muttered each word with a cold glare that brought the house to the freezing point.

Even the lady was too scared to speak when she whispered,

"But I do not have a son!"
