Alex stopped abruptly and raised his head. There was no way that she knew so much without meeting the girl. Even he was not sure except her eyes and face color.
Then his eyes narrowed.
His hands moved to her collar so abruptly that the smile on the face of Olivia froze. It was so abrupt that she was not expecting it. He used so much force that she felt her shirt would tear and if that happened, her wrapped breast would be out of it instead of the muscular chest like a man.
"Wh.. what are you doing?" she struggled, her hands flailed but he was so strong that she was not able to get rid of it.
Olivia's strength lies in her sharp reflexes and her affinity to daggers. She could shoot the flying bird that was lost in clouds no matter how fast it was flying.
But when it comes to strength, she could only handle ordinary knights. But Alex.. she was no way close to him when it comes to strength.
"You knew that from the start, didn't you? You were sitting with us yesterday to assess what we know and how close we are to reality. Don't you?
Everything is a joke for you or a means to earn money! How much money has she paid you to sell this information? And now that you think your benefit lies with us, you are here to sell her.
Do you have any conscience or not?" His words were harsh and cold, piercing her but she only chuckled.
"Did that mean, you are rejecting the offer?" there was no embarrassment or any kind of emotion in her eyes.
She already knew that he treated her like trash. She would have left like that day if it would not have been for the girl.
"I can give you another offer! I want a girl from the house of prostitute. I heard that she is with you. Give me the girl and I will give you the details of the girl you are looking for." she looked straight back into his eyes with confidence when his eyes shrunk.
A faint cold glimmer leaked out of his eyes.
"Do you think that I would let it go? Ha! Now you are blackmailing me. Very well, bring that girl and I will give you the girl you are looking for." a cold look that was able to freeze the whole training ground spread through his body.
Ethan was already biting on his nails when he saw the tension between both of them.
"Is he [Olivia] asking for that prostitute who had killed a man?" whispered a knight and Tavern nodded.
He could not understand why Alex was getting too agitated. He had no intention to punish any of both women since they only killed the criminals and that also in ambiguous conditions. What if they were only doing that for self defense.
If someone else had offered him the same choice, he would have accepted it gladly. Not to forget that Olivia was a good fighter. She would be good for their team. But as if Alex had decided to not to take her in no matter what.
His master was never to work on his impulse.
How can Olivia bring herself? She could not ask anyone to pose herself since she could not put anyone else in danger. With the look of Alex, she was sure he was going to punish her badly.
"That.. I can not place someone in the mouth of death. But if you want a simple conversation, I can help you with it." the slow chuckle echoes in the silenced ground.
His eyes that were filled with the intent to kill burnt as he walked closer to her. For the first time, she felt real danger from the man. His glance was of a predator that had already trapped the prey in his hands.
"She had only killed the men who had tried to molest her sisters. It was self defense.
But if you want, I can give you the name of her next targets. Isn't saving the life of others better than killing her?" She tried her luck for the last time as she spoke in a hurried voice when he finally halted.
"Next target!??" That only meant she was behind the murder of the man in the inn too.
"Alright, tell me the name and location of her next targets."
"........." Olivia blinked at his sudden calmness. For a second ago, he was coming to kill her and now he was talking like a civilized man but she was glad that it happened.
She took out the parchments she had prepared in advance for luring him. These all were the addresses of the criminals that were attached to human trafficking.
She had stolen them from that auction house and had decided to clean them so that she could find who is bringing the woman of her palace in this business.
But if he would go and kill them first, it would only save her labor. She would be able to investigate easily if he would do all the dirty work.
And knowing the nature of Alex, she was sure he would not be able to stay silent after checking the papers.
Alex waved his hands and soon the girl was brought. She had a frown on her face but when she looked at Olivia, her eyes widened with shock.
She tried to cover her reactions later but it was already too late.
"It is alright, you do not need to worry. We are going home." Olivia walked closer and assured the woman that she was safe now. "No one would hurt you, I promise." she stroked her hair but the frown on the face of the woman only increased as if she did not understand a word Olivia was saying.
"What are you talking about? No one was hurting me here. I was working as their cook."
