The whole place had turned silent since Alex had entered except the sound of wince and moans when he beat them and the sound of counting from the other knights who were leaning on the wall outside the gambling house.
The numbers of the injured persons kept increasing, even surprising them who were habitual of seeing their master beating criminals and ruffians.
"Damn! Poor men. They would have never thought that they would be beaten so badly that they would lose their limbs just for asking a fine from traders." Ethan could not help but feel bad for the robbers who rob only petty amounts yet punished like they had committed sins.
"Shush! Keep your voice down. I did not want to be dragged with you again or it would be us instead of those ruffians." even felt that the punishment was a bit harsh when they saw them limping and lying on the ground as if they were dead but he did not dare to stop his master.
He could feel the cold emitting from his body from this far. He must be too agitated by that young boy earlier.
Who would have thought that his master would be this offensive after being touched by a man! But the boy was too casual with his master too.
He wondered whether the boy was new to the town or did not love his life enough?
But before he could think further, Alex came out of the deserted gambling house. Half of the men inside were beaten by him up to the limit that a few of them would never be able to stand up again and the rest of them ran away, afraid that they would be next to receive his wrath.
All the knights stood straighter when he walked towards them and passed a cold glance. His shoes made a distinctive sound on the wet sand and the knights felt like each step was cruising their lungs and they were not able to breathe anymore.
"Take all of them to prison and siege the gambling house. Demolish the gambling house and open an orphanage here. Use all the money you find inside to support the kids for the future.`` His cold voice was like a cold blizzard that could freeze the people to death.
His eyes were still dark and dangerous.
Matthew wanted to tell him that it would not be beneficial to take dead bodies to the prison but in the end he just nodded.
No one was able to look at the face of their master much less ask him questions or give advice.
Soon the place was cleared by them and the building was captured while he waited on his horse all the time. His face was still looking dark, which surprised the knights as he always felt better after beating the criminals. This was his best way to vent out his anger.
"Master, why don't we go out and have a drink with old Edgar. He was gone to find the man in the town so that he could convince him personally to join our team.
I am curious to see the boy who had impressed him so much.'' Alex tilted his head and thought for a second before nodding his head, surprising everyone.
"That would be good to warm up to spar with that boy before sparring with Ethan in the tramping ground!" There was no warmth in his words, causing all the knight's nerves to tighten!
"......." did they just ask him to kill an innocent boy? Now they feel guilty towards the boy they have not met yet. Who would have thought that master was still full of blood lust!
They gulped their own saliva as they exchanged glances before climbing on their horses.
On the other side, Olivia buys more cakes and snacks since she has more money now. Her face was filled with a wide smile that could make face sore but it was only increasing when she thought about the dark faces of them.
They were irritating her for some time. This would serve them as a good lesson. Though she was greedy and mostly casual, her mind was vicious and full of revenge.
She enjoyed annoying those who annoyed her first and that Alex, he was making her furious since he was not leaving her alone for some time.
She walked towards her home with a bright smile on her face but it did not stay for long when she noticed who was standing on the door.
"Why are you here?" He had already sent the messenger twice showing his intent to hire her in his team and she had made it clear so many times that she did not want to be part of the royal team. It would put too much attention on her.
She had to stay hidden until they would stop searching for her and then she had to return back and participate in their knights team,
If she would join this one, then her empire would always treat her as a foreigner.
"Ah, you are finally here, brother. A guest has come while looking for you." the girl he had invited in the morning was already gone. The old man was sitting in their garden sipping tea while her sister was standing there awkwardly.
"Why are you here? Haven't I already denied you or you did not get my message?" with a frown she twisted the chair and sat on it while placing the packets of food on the table.
"Hmm, I did get them but I did not understand the reason for your rejection. And I have already informed my boss about you.
It would be troublesome to handle him. If you want to reject again, at least meet him once and explain it to him or I would be in big trouble. He is in the town waiting, especially for you."
