The face of the man paled. What if the baron decided to take his anger out! He was still the owner of this fief.
"Wait.. i.. I am still ready to be with you. I will forget whatever happened. As long as you stay silent, I will only be with you as your husband." he said with an apologetic face and panicked voice when she scoffed.
Though it looked like he was apologizing, he was actually saying that "he would do a favor on her if she stayed silent." as if she did not deserve a man like him but he was pitying her.
The thought only filled him with rage and humiliation at the same time. Her body trembled with anger and her nails dug deeper into her skin.
She wanted to slap him again but looking at his face, she did not even want to touch him or else he would have misunderstood that gesture too.
"You are pathetic and delusional." she spat with a look of pity in her eyes as she shook her head and turned to leave from there.
