"You are pregnant. " The words of the doctor kept reeling in my head all week as I didn't attempt to go to work. That sentence made me a bit woozy and I fell over my chair in that instant and fainted. I woke up to a couple of nurses telling me that I was alright but I wasn't.
I avoided the topic anytime Elena tried to bring it up and I knew I couldn't avoid it any longer. I stared at my phone that I had turned off for days. I used a telephone booth to call Emily but I got no response.
I heard the door slam shut and the reality that Elena was back from work dawned on me. I was about to rise from the sofa and run when she spoke.
"You have been avoiding all week. Aren't you sick of it?"
I was rooted on the spot when she dropped her bag in rage and walked right in front of me with her hands over her bust.
