Rainn is brought into a restaurant. He, who had never been to a restaurant, followed Silan and Rokee inside while looking around.
Soon Rainn was led to a seat at the far end of the room. Many people had been watching them from the moment the three of them stepped inside. Of course, the white robes the two of them wore had an important role in the treatment.
Rainn himself thought that was good. This way everyone's attention would be on them and the Investigators wouldn't dare mess around.
They sat together. There was a kind of low barrier that blocked the three of them from people's view. But the barrier is only thin wood covered with cloth. Rainn was sure that if he shouted his voice would be heard throughout the room.
"Would you like to eat and drink too?" Ask Rokee. Her suddenly friendly demeanor made Rainn shudder.
"No," said Rainn. "We won't be long if I just explain what I saw."
Rokee smiled. "Okay."
Rokee glanced at Silan with a gaze that contained a meaning. Then gave a small nod without Rainn noticing.
"Tell me, kid. Why did you run away then?" Silan takes over. Rainn looked at him in surprise.
"What do you mean?"
"You were in the alley near the Arkan mall that time. Don't you remember?"
Rainn of course remembered the first time he entered the World Dungeon and he almost died in the narrow alley. He saw a white-robed figure running toward him before he lost consciousness.
"Oh," said Rainn. "So it was you? Thanks. I had to go because I thought I wouldn't be able to pay the hospital fees."
"I already paid for it." Silan shook his head. "But it's okay. The important thing is that you're okay now."
Rain just nodded. Then ask. "Why don't we just start?"
"Oh, right," Silan took a white notebook and a pen. "Let's get started. So what were you doing in the Brownwood forest?"
Rainn began to answer questions after questions from Silan. The man asked kindly and patiently. But Rainn was starting to get annoyed because Silan's question seemed to be repeated over and over again even though the answer he gave was still the same.
"If a person is lying, then he will make a mistake if asked the same question a hundred times," said Silan. Rainn couldn't believe he had to answer the same question a hundred times.
But of course that's not Silan's intention. His questions were meant to distract Rainn from Rokee who was busy calling someone.
The interview session lasted for at least half an hour until Rainn finally had enough of this nonsense. Rokee and Silan smiled in response to Rainn's annoyed face and tone.
"Sorry to make you uncomfortable. But it's okay now," said Rokee.
Rainn breathed a sigh of relief. "Does that mean I can go now?"
"Soon. Someone wants to see you," Rokee replied.
Rain frowned. "What do you mean?"
Footsteps were heard approaching. The heels of the shoes tread at a fast rhythm and reverberate around the restaurant.
Rainn finally realized that there were no more voices from the people who had previously dined at this restaurant. Then someone appeared from behind the barrier wood.
He was a man with long hair parted in the middle. His face looks intimidating with a pointed chin and eyes that seem to always stare intently and thoroughly. Those two eyes seem to always want to find your true identity behind the mask you wear all the time. And he was also wearing the same white robe as Rokee and Silan. It's just that there is some kind of additional silver ornament on both shoulders.
"You must be Rainn," said the newcomer. His voice was baritone. He smiled but the smile on his face wasn't something that made the viewer feel comfortable.
Rainn didn't answer because he was still trying to digest what happened. Why suddenly a stranger came? Wait, he's not a stranger. His white robes said that he too was an investigator.
"Who are you?" Rainn asked. The man took a seat on one of the chairs so now Rainn was surrounded by three Investigators. It was then that he realized that he had made a mistake by following the two of them.
"Let me introduce myself first," the man began. "My name is Sefyr. And I am the same as these two. I am an officer of the Federal Bureau of Royal."
Rainn is silent.
"You are an unusual young man," said Sefyr. "Some time ago you were just a supernatural hunter working part-time. Then suddenly you experienced some mysterious events."
Rainn frowned. Sefyr stared at him with those piercing gray eyes even more intensely.
"Silan said that you were dying in the alley once. Your body suffered a lot of wounds but there was no blood there. It's as if you just... I don't know, transferred from another place." Sefyr said. Looking at Rainn.
Again, Rainn chose to remain silent because he didn't have the energy to lie amidst the gazes of the three Investigators.
"Then," continued Sefyr. "Now you are at the scene of the demon summoning ritual. Not only that, but you also defeated the cultists who tried to summon the demon. Don't you seem to have grown stronger in too short a time?"
"Then why? I only discovered my talent recently," Rainn said, trying to answer in a calm voice.
From Sefyr's mouth came a cold laugh. "That's a good reason. And very possible to happen. But very rarely."
"What's your point?" Rainn asked.
Sefyr's face and Sefyr's eyes seemed to say that he already had the answer he wanted. He just needed to hear it straight from Rainn's mouth.
"You got power all of a sudden. I want to know what power you got and how you got it," said Sefyr who sounded so sure. Rainn didn't know how this man could be so sure. There was something strange about him. He cant possibly know about Systema.
"Didn't I tell you that my magical talent was only recently discovered? Of course, it was a sudden power," Rainn replied, then gulped. His heart was beating fast right now. He even thought of using [Thunder Step] to escape from here.
"It's unbelievable," said Sefyr.
"Why?"
"Without the right mentor. You'll kill yourself the first time you use magic," Sefyr said.
Rainn and Sefyr stared at each other for a few moments which seemed too long for Rainn. Before finally, another voice came interrupting.
"Well, there seems to be a meeting here."
They all turned to the source of the voice. There stood a man with blond hair in a ponytail. He smiled kindly at all of them.
"Oh, Rainn!" He said as he was friendly. "So you're here. I've been looking for you everywhere, mate. Did you forget that we have something important to talk about this evening?"
Rainn didn't know who the man was. But now it seemed his chance to escape had come. At least this man could carry it all the way to the door of the restaurant.
