"Are you going to stay with us tonight, Jae-woo?" Lisa is now being a tease. She doesn't have much alcohol tolerance.
"We'll be going back home…" he replied.
"We?" She echoed and she looked at me. "I thought you're staying here until Friday?" She asked.
"Apparently not…"
"Hey, you don't need to worry about being evicted at your place…you can just live with him…" she blurted. I told her earlier about a possible scenario of being evicted at the loft and I regretted telling her now that she's intoxicated. Jae-woo looked at me, his eyes inquiring.
"Heids, you'll take care of her…we'll be leaving shortly…" I went to get my stuff from the room.
"Can you drive, or should we call Joon?" I asked him. He must have drunk at least 3 glasses of wine.
"I'm ok." He confirmed.
"Lis, we're leaving now, I will see you Thursday. Let me know when you're leaving tomorrow…" I looked at Heidi.
We arrived at his place around 11 in the night. As soon as he closed the door behind us, he put down my bag and as if he can no longer control himself longer, pulled me towards him, reach for my lips and planted a hungry passionate kiss. I don't even have any idea how we manage to reach his bed before finally giving in to our longing to each other.
"So, will you finally tell me how it went with your family?" I was lying on his arms looking up at him.
"They wanted to meet you…"
"Wanted. They like it or it's just out of curiosity?"
"They're not as bad as you think. It's just the circumstances are not good."
"I didn't say anything…do they know about the deal?"
"Nope. But Jae-yin is suspicious. She and her husband are also trying to help out She is not in-favor of the engagement, but she can't voice it out with my parents."
"So, have you secured the shares?"
"I managed to buy 12%. We are worried that someone else is trying to buy the remaining 4%...they must have figured out what I'm trying to do…"
"Maybe it's not a good idea coming-out…?" I'm a little skeptical. If they found out about me, they might suspect Jae-woo of getting help.
"I thought the same thing…"
"I'm sorry…"
"Hey, no sorrys remember?"
"Jae-hyin is helping me to persuade Dad in telling us about the anonymous shares…" he is feeling uneasy, then he let a sigh. He stood up and went outside the room.
He came back carrying my bag to the room. I noticed the Tatler magazines and my new book by his bedside table. Hmm. When did he even have time to purchase these things? I searched through his kitchen cupboards looking for wine glass.
"Since when did you have time to have these things," I pointed at the magazines at the table.
"I pre-ordered. Since there's no privilege of being the boyfriend of the author…the magazines, we have subscription at Namesis, the PR team send it here."
"I didn't know you wanted to read that…" I pointed at the book.
"It got me interested…" he teased.
I have not told him about the subject of the book. But I guess most of the people who knew me already have the idea what's it all about. The Girl Who Chases her Fate… it's about moving on, and finding myself in unexpected way, by seizing my opportunity and hoping to find my fate or destiny…or if there's really something called love for us who have failed once, would it not be nice to finally experience it? He must have suspected about the inclusion of my life with him in this book. Of course. The incident from 3 years ago is in the last 2 chapters. It is not a declaration of love but a hope that what I feel and who he is will lead me back to the time when I have longed for a life of excitement and fulfillment with someone.
"I'll just do some work before coming back to bed…" he declared.
"I will stay here with my laptop; I also need to finish something…" I replied. He kissed me goodnight and went out of the room.
There's a nagging thought that occurred to me about that 2 anonymous shareholders that his father is trying to hide. And I really wanted to satisfy my curiosity. When I have a hunch, I usually don't stop until I will have a peace of mind. If he can't secure the full 16%, our deal would be futile. And the only solution we'll resort to is the to find out about the 2 shareholders, although I know which direction to look to, and I think going to meet his family is a good idea.
I woke up the next morning with him fast asleep beside me. I have not notice him came back to bed last night. I went to the kitchen to make some coffee and breakfast. He doesn't have much in his fridge but some eggs and milk. I made scrambled eggs.
"Good morning…I have not done groceries since last week. This is the first time I was home since Thursday…" he stated, his eyes apologetic.
"I don't usually eat breakfast, remember?" I responded.
"I'll drop by later after work…"
"I'm going back to the loft later…"
"Don't you have to stay out of the loft until the press con is done?"
"Depends what will transpire at the meeting later…"
"Just stay here until then…" he came towards me and kissed me. There's a plenty of kisses with him.
"I have not notice you came to bed last night."
"We still can't secure the full 16% but Jae-hyin have some lead about the 2 shareholders…"
"When will the shareholders' meeting be?"
"Tuesday next week…"
"Should I drop you off work?"
"Thanks, but Joon is coming here, we are meeting some people at brunch."
"Ok. I 'll go ahead then." I went for a shower and prepared to go to SNU.
