Lord Kieran's mind was preoccupied again that night, when Aiden stepped up beside him on the balcony overlooking the land of Aisgarth. He'd been tossing and turning on his bed and couldn't sleep. He was scheduled to leave his home again to march along the borders of Midgard and Asnar to hunt the remaining Night Critters that were spotted near the border.
"How did your meeting with Queen Asheera go?"
It's been a week since the confrontation between them, and the demon lord was glad that Xanaros didn't bother to summon Iris to question her himself. He hadn't said a word to his courtiers on how it went.
"Not well I'm afraid. Asheera is insistent on taking Iris back with her to Shayla."
Aiden scratched his nape and leaned against the railing. "That bad? Then do you think she'll give up this easily? I didn't think she would be this desperate. The House of Hazelwood has finally reached their limit."
