"How do you mean, milord?" Iris wasn't sure what her mate was trying to imply. Was Lord Kieran testing her?
"It can't just be the acknowledgement alone that you're after, Little Flower. Though you do not strike me as someone ambitious, I can feel through our mating bond that you wish to gain something."
Iris took a slow sip of her drink while she thought her answers through, wondering what her mate expected to hear from her. In the end, she opted to answer truthfully.
'"I just want to live without worries and any regrets. Is that really hard to believe? Ever since my magic resurfaced, I have been wary not to be discovered by anyone in fear of what could happen to my family because of me. I don't want to spend the rest of my life in hiding."
