When Iris woke up, she heard from Ricci that Lord Kieran had already left before daybreak. She wanted to have a word with him before he left, but didn't think that he would be leaving this early. Last night, she tossed and turned, not able to sleep, thinking of what she felt for the demon lord and her need to break their bonds.
"Something wrong, Iris?" Chrysanthe asked, noticing her unusual silence.
Iris shook her head, trying to drown her disappointment of not being able to bid goodbye to her mate.
"Nothing. Just thinking about what we should do today." She lied.
Her friends knew that she was lying, but neither Amelia nor Chrysanthe commented on it.
"Didn't Lord Kieran give you the permission to check out the library for information on the mating rune? We shouldn't waste time, given that you only have a year to find a way to break it." Chrysanthe said.
Iris nodded in agreement. "Right, let's do that then."
