Iris was sure that she had fallen into a deep slumber yet again and wasn't sure how long it was this time. She woke up with a splitting headache this time, holding the sides of her head as she pondered if Amelia and Chrysanthe had finally arrived.
She took in the chamber she woke up in. The whole place was almost as large as her family's cottage back in Dravial. The doors were large, ceilings were towering and the furniture took up more space than any carriage she had seen before.
Iris supposed that all of these were appropriately sized for a castle and she would have to become accustomed to it. Everything was black and obsidian, but was cozy enough to stay in. Opposite to the bed, there was a hearth providing her warmth. She then spotted an expensive fur rug next to the bed and a wall of French doors that led to a balcony overlooking the land being ruled by her future husband, if she failed to find a way to break their mating bond.
