Melissa decided to do an inspection on the borders to see how bad the situation was. Amelia went with her, but she convinced Iris to stay with Chrysanthe at the temple just in case the dark elves attacked. Iris wanted to join them, but she didn't want to cause more trouble for the Woodland Elves and Lady Selene.
Once Lady Selene left with Melissa and Amelia, Chrysanthe slumped on her seat and lowered the hood of her cloak. She then eyed Iris, who was standing in front of the windows, watching the troop follow Melissa's lead to the border.
"I wonder if Queen Asheera knew that we'll be expecting the demon army." Chrysanthe said, trying to break the awkward atmosphere between her and Iris.
"She probably didn't know." Iris answered, not breaking her gaze outside. "She wouldn't have let me come here and face such danger if she knew they were coming."
