"If you've heard the rumors, you should know by now how overprotective my parents can be." Melinoia didn't mean to drive him away, but she would rather avoid conflicts between him and her parents. It's already bad enough that they didn't like him at all.
The young god cocked his head to one side, looking at her blankly. He thought that by coming here, he would be able to find a weakness he could use against the fire god.
