This wasn't illusion magic, Cal was sure of it. This wasn't the same kind of magic that Lord Kieran had used to make Aisgarth look livable. Magic won't allow them to smell or feel the illusion of having the grass beneath their feet, or even hear the sound of the tweeting birds that had suddenly come to Aisgarth.
The sky above them was clear and blue for the first time in ages. The sun was up above the sky, shining brighter than ever. From the far horizon, clouds were rolling as the northern wind blew. Aisgarth had sunny weather that morning, something that has never been witnessed by anyone over the past millennium.
The remaining citizens of Aisgarth were celebrating. They had no idea how it happened, but the same couldn't be said for those who witnessed Iris using all her light magic in an attempt to revive their High Lord.
