The gravity of the situation she was in hadn't quite sunk in for Iris. She looked at her mate in confusion, then saw how the black vines that sprouted from her tried to attack Lord Kieran in futile. It didn't matter if the vines weren't able to harm him, but the fact that her dark magic attempted to hurt Lord Kieran made Iris feel guilty.
"Calm down, Iris. Call to your magic and ask for it to retreat." She heard her mate say. "Don't feed on it anymore or we would have an explosion in here."
But it was easier said than done because Iris could feel her dark magic wanting to burst out of her body. She feared that if this continued, Lord Kieran and her friends would end up getting hurt.
"I can't…" She responded, trying to wrangle against her magic and get it back under control, but failed. How was she supposed to overcome her own magic if it won't even listen to her will?
