Iris had waited three whole days before Cal and Aiden allowed her to see Kieran. She wasn't sure what to expect, but Aiden assured her that their High Lord was now out of danger. She could see a hint of hesitation in his eyes, and Cal shook his head to stop Aiden from disclosing more to her.
Aiden assured her that Kieran was in a better state now, as powerful high lords like him were able to heal on their own in a short period of time, unless their injuries were grave. The urge to ask him more regarding Kieran's true state bloomed in her mind, but Aiden stopped her before she could ask him herself.
"See him for yourself, Lady Iris. I know Kieran doesn't want you to see him in such a state, but he'd been asking for you the moment he regained his consciousness."
Her attendants led her to the north wing, where Kieran's bedchamber was located. Iris noticed that there were some talismans placed on the columns as she walked, but she had no idea what they were for.
