When Su Yang's eyes met with Yun Meiyi's, he waited to see some emotion in it. But except for indifference, there was nothing. After a moment, her eyes turned to look away as if she had never known him in the first place. Like all the years of relationship with her was nothing, and he was just another stranger to her.
Yun Meiyi walked past him. Since she had taken the route of the back exit, there was still a long way before she reached her car. When she was halfway in the garden, suddenly from behind, her arms were tugged.
And since it was sudden, Yun Meiyi wasn't able to control her fall. Stumbling on her footing, she fell back on Su Yang's chest, hitting her head hard on his stiff muscles.
She winced in pain; her arms went around his frame. She did not hold him, but Su Yang's breathing paused. His heart thumped inside his chest and it was so loud that he couldn't deny it even for his sake.
