The silence in the car was so soothing that Yun Meiyi didn't even realize it when she dozed off. Only after she completed her whole nap did her eyelashes flutter before opening to see the brightness of the sky. She shifted on her seat a little as she turned to look at the side only to find the man sitting as she last remembered him.
"What are you doing?" she asked before coughing to ease her groggy throat. Then shifting a little more to sit properly on her seat, she looked out of the window to check the area she was in. The place was still unfamiliar to her since it was just the last night she had come here. "And this?"
"This is the place you are living and I have been waiting for you to wake up." He said and it was then Yun Meiyi realized that the car was already standing in front of Tower D of Golden Heights.
Her brows jutted in a frown as turning suspiciously, she turned to ask, "I don't remember telling you my address, then how did you know? And …" She turned to look behind to check if there were any guards around. But finding none, her frown deepened as she continued, "And how did you get inside? Did the security not stop you at the gate?"
The man remained all nonchalant to her questions as he replied, "You might be sleeping but your soul was still with me. And souls often like to tell me things." He said and for a moment at his words like that Yun Meiyi was startled. But just when the fear could overpower her, she shrugged off the thoughts that his words brought her and grumbled.
"Don't just say anything. I never had a habit of sleep talking." She said before pushing the door open to leave. But then pausing in her movement, she turned to look back at the man. Putting a smile on her lips, she said, "Also, I would like to repeat myself. Since I have already told you what I want, please don't come back to me until you get that one thing for me. Okay?"
The man nodded and only after seeing him agree did she step down the car before closing and waving her hands to him. Then opening the back door, she got her luggage down and waited for him to start the engine and drive away but when she didn't see him leaving, she shook her head internally and turned to leave on her own.
"I would leave first then. I guess you can leave on your own." She said and waving her hands, she left without turning back for once.
Getting the master card out of her bag, she was ready to get in the first door of the building when she finally heard the engine of the car getting started. Her lips curled up in a warm smile as she walked inside to press the button of the elevator. But before she could even press it, the door itself opened as the hurried figure of Liu Si Si rushed out, almost crashing into Yun Meiyi.
Yun Meiyi was dumbfounded for a moment. "Si Si, where are you rushing to? Is there any problem?" She asked with concern.
But the girl just pushed her aside and went to check something outside. Disappointed to not find the one she was looking for, she turned back to her friend and asked, "Where does he go?"
Yun Meiyi's brows drew closer together to one another. "Who? What are you looking for?"
"Of course, the man in the black Bentley who dropped you off here. Where is he? I came down hurriedly to meet him. Where did he go? Don't say you sent him off without letting me see him."
Liu Si Si spoke with some exaggeration and Yun Meiyi couldn't help but roll her eyes at her before turning to get back to the elevator. "He has left already. Why would he be waiting for you?" She said and soon the elevator door dinged open and she walked inside to turn around and look at the girl.
Liu Si Si had a pout on her face. Yun Meiyi looked at her and arched her eyebrows at her to ask, "What? Are you going to wait for him here? If not, hurry up to get inside, or I am not going to hold the door for you."
As she heard her say that, she rushed to get inside the elevator before the door shut her out. Seeing her like that, Yun Meiyi chuckled and shook her head. But Liu Si Si just pursed her lips. "Yi Yi, you are really ruthless. You knew that I wanted to meet him. You should have kept him for longer so that I could have met him. This really isn't fair."
"He had work. So, he had to leave early." Yun Meiyi said only to see her friend sulk more at her words.
"YiYi, you didn't stop him, it's okay. But you don't have to make excuses for it."
"What do you mean?"
Liu Si Si pursed her lips and grumbled in a slow voice, "Isn't it simple? If he really had important work to attend to, why would he have waited there for more than two hours? Shouldn't he have gone urgently? Also, let me ask you why you were actually doing in his car for all that while? If you had called me earlier, I would have come down earlier and would have invited him in."
She said but Yun Meiyi tugged her brows together only to ask again, "Two hours? Has he parked his car here for two hours?"
Liu Si Si rolled her eyes. "Of course. Maybe more than two hours. Have you not checked the time on your watch?" She said and it was only then Yun Meiyi realized that all this while she has not once checked the time on her watch.
"What's the time?" She asked as she pulled up her hand to check and her eyes widened in surprise.
Liu Si Si shook her head in nothingness as pinching the space between her brows she said, "The sun is about to set in the west. What do you think?"
